Kings County District Attorney Charles Hynes Tuesday announced the sentencing of Nechemya Weberman to 103 years in prison for abusing a young girl over the course of 3 years.
Weberman, a Satmar chossid who counseled troubled youth, was convicted on the top count of Course of … Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree on December 10, 2012 before Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice John Ingram.
“If there is one message to take away from this case it is that this office will pursue the evil of… abuse of a child no matter where it occurs in this county,” Hynes said in a statement.
“The abuse of a child cannot be swept under the rug or dealt with by insular groups believing only they know what is best for their community.
“In this case it took the courage of a young woman to drive home the point that justice can only be achieved through the involvement of civil authorities charged with protecting all the people.”
Weberman, 54, was counseling the victim beginning when she was 12. From 2007 to 2010, Weberman abused the girl multiple times, mostly in his office, according to the statement.

if the punishment should fit the crime he should be murdered and brought back to life for every time he even thought of doing something to her let alone for his actions.

The young girl is going to have to live with this for the rest of her life, but I still dont think he should of got life in prison, there are plenty of men in prison now doing what he did and they did not get as much time as he did, I never heard of a person getting life in prison for doing what he did, people that kill other people they dont get as much time as he did, by the time the parole board looks at his case he might not be around anymore
1) If a person commits 2 crimes, should they get a break and get the same as a person who committed one crime?
2) People believe that a person would repent and do teshuva. How are you so sure of this? Just because you’d learn your lesson, doesnt mean the monster would learn his lesson.
this is abuse not seduction, how would we be if we support a world filled with abusive men, and abusive relationships, lets look at what we are proposing for a Jewish family life. How are we proposing to raise a beautiful generation of Happy Loving People, if we are not recognizing abuse in or out of marriage.
The number is ridiculous, what on Earth does that mean? Give him life with a chance of parole in 25 years. That’s what we usually do in Canada. A man his age in 25 years he would repent and learn his lesson if he makes it that long. and in 25 years parole board will decide if he should remain in jail or not.
No excuse for his crime.
Hynes would put Dovid Hamelech
100,300 years in prison for what he did to that 12 year old girl.
That’s irrelevant. Each one of them is a crime and a violation of someone’s rights and body. Whether someone is abducted, beard shaved and thrown out of a moving vehicle onto the street, or someone is molested it’s a crime. No need to compare. The only comparison hear is to point out the violent tendencies of the offender which goes back many years to a well known story
this should have been taken care of the old fashioned way.
hard decision frum yid but guilty???
the desert – i believe that the article deals with the days of the desert, not modern times. In the desert the victim wielded wide powers over her rapist. The perpetrator was watched with an eagle eye by everyone. To shorten the script, his life was made a living hell if he stepped out of line. Fast forward to the modern day, and the family can afford to help the victim and there are institutions to help, a victim is not seen as some leper etc. . No repeat offender. Problem arises when you don’t apprehend the rapist, or get… Read more »

You are so right. Imagine Dovid Hamelech and Avishag Hshunamies these days. Dovid Hamelech never even married the Girl, the girl just sat on his lap. These days I also support throwing a molestor into prison (-not for life-) because he is ruining the child for life, and he may go after others. But don’t blame Torah.. Gemara and Shulchan Aruch never mention “child molostation” as a prohibited adultry (unless it goes into other categories such as man with man etc.) Chumash requires the molster to marry the victim for life. Even a Shifcha Charufa (brought in Gemara) who gets… Read more »

Off hand, it does seem like the Torah is kind of “lenient” with this type of crime, if interpreted literally. So, let’s hear how the Beis Din would actually deal with this, and what the other sources of Jewish law have to say. I do find it hard to believe that the literal interpretation would allow us to just give the rapist no more than just a slap on the hand.
intentional deception resulting in injury to another person or something intended to deceive; deliberate trickery intended to gain an advantage =fraud
you are a idiot. so the other girls who didn’t want to speak up should marry him too? wow
You are clearly an am h’aretz and are completely unaware of shulchan oruch, g’mara and other Jewish sources of law. So, please stop talking, It sounds almost like you do this yourself.
Terrible! He raped an unmarried minor, so we jump on the bandwagon and say “let him rot!” Maybe he deserves it, according to the law of the land. But, correct me if I’m missing something. Doesn’t the Torah require the rapist to just pay a fine and even marry her? So, when the law of the land and the Torah contradict, which one do we go by? Case in point. Let’s say we live in an Arab country, where the penalty for theft is be-handing. Are we going to insist that our brother thief lose his hand or go according… Read more »
Today its child molestation.
Next will be Medicaid fraud
Next will be tax fraud.
Afterwards they will come after our schools.
Etc.
Now Hynes has a good start because he gets a drop of support from the Frum community. I really hope he will be stopped early.
america has no sence of justice
As a mother, if what this person did is true he should pay the price. But for all those, so rithteously condemning the man,REMEMBER, HASHEM SAYS, WHEN YOU DECREE ON ANOTHER PERSON, YOU ARE IN EFFECT DECREEING ON YOURSELF. So in all your holy righteousness, DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR, and instead of gloating and condemning HAVE RACHMONOS ON HIS SICK MIND AND SOUL! By the same token, I would hate for thi girl to be my daughter, she, in her own right sounds like “yenne tzatske”
The victim will read any silly comment you post. So think before you type.
So so sad… just 103 years?
The Likutei Sichos mentioned above is in vol. 23 p. 304. It is a must to read the sicha in full starting from p. 303 onwards. Recalling many instances when the Rebbe spoke out in such a manner and tone throughout the years it NEVER FAILED the one referred to was affected physically, mentally or caught up in terrible situations! even though the Rebbe would always say it should be “bechesed Uverachamim”, (can’t imagine what would have been if the Rebbe wouldn’t have concluded with this clause!). I know too little about the case to comment ,but I’m disturbed by the tone of the District Attorney’s comments. The American justice system is designed to deliver objective justice, not to deliver subjective sermons.
Wich page in hosafos?
Regarding the suggestion that this individual was involved in cutting off R’ Pinye’s beard, I just remembered the following:
In the sicha that the Rebbe spoke after that incident (printed in the hosafos of likutei sichos chelek 23), the Rebbe mentioned – seemingly parenthetically – that these so-called kanoim were guilty of “chilel briso”, something that seemed hard to understand at the time, but seems prophetic now.
I am sickened by those that are so quick to judge and punish: NOBODY knows for sure- this is a case of Weberman being tried at the worst possible time. The climate will reverse soon when enough people (and some quite innocent) will have suffered irreparable damage. (not to mention their entire families). please if you are so willing to believe in all this disgusting publicized media filth – please take a bit of your time and watch the videos on youtube about the subject. you owe it to yourself!! You want to compare money to repeated RAPE on a poor 12 year old girl?!!! Are you telling me the world has changed – maybe stealing money is worse than this?
The victim was also Jewish ever think of that?
What really appalls me is that people like Weberman, like Amalek, go after the weaklings, the nebachs, who are kind of on the fringe of the community. So, who would support them in their time of need?
Let’s level the playing field a little, like pick on someone your own size. What would happen if he did it to one of the REBBE’s kids?! Now, are they still going to support him , or more like beat him up or worse?
Imagine those Yidden that invited Hynes together with 10 non Jewish News reporters will now decide: “Now is time for Medicaid fraud!!!” He opens a website about Frum Jews, posting those “who defraud Medicaid”. WE NEED MOSHIACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
agreed with 3.
Levi Aaron just got 40 years and he killed.
I don’t care what your opinion is, whether or not he should get life! BUT PLEASE DON’T COMPARE HIM IN ANY WAY TO RUBASHKIN! RUBASHKIN is an innocent man deserving nothing but a fine! This man on the other hand (if what they say is true) is definitely deserving of serving time, I don’t care how long!) This case may or may not be a scapegoat case, but the RUBASHKIN case is not only a scapegoat case, it’s a mendel bailis case, a blood libel!
I wonder how many commentators have any criminal justice experience at all??? So many people are making comments, with no perspective or point of comparison. Here in LA, we are lucky enough to have a frum Lubavitcher DA, who explains alot to us. Some of you should seriously consider talking to him.
Id like to see what you would do if that would Chas VeShalom would happen to your daughter or to your wife and see you satisfied with only 103 years of this monster sitting in jail. Some people would say no matter what we would do to this person it would never be enough. Its already shocking what he did for such a long time or even once! and that he was (well i dunno anymore really) a frum jew???
this seems interesting…levi aron should get 103 years IF ANYTHING he should be killed!
im sorry, i know 103 years sound bad but really, jail IS NOT SO BAD! He deserves murder, for all the horrible things he did to kids. It’s not just an easy thing to get over, but rather is a trauma for the whole life and an embarassment to the whole family!
oh he got what he deserves, but I worry that other minorities are treated differently and are getting off too lightly!
Its time we pack our bags and move to Israel!!!
Moshiach now!!
1) He did …
2) 47 explains what happened
103 years is too kind. Chillul hashem he has put us through combined with the destruction he caused that girls life, this all makes me feel antisemitic.
Seriously? You are actually going to say that this person does not deserve a life sentence???
I dont know if youre a boy, a girl, or what age you are, but it is very embarassing – Especially a young girl of only 12-15
To say certain things.
It may sound stupid, but thats the way it is.
Some people feel even that they did something wrong by being abused, so they dont want to say it.
And im not just saying, i know people who unfortunately lived this.
Its easy to say things, try to put yourself in her shoes.
Terrible good for him let him learn the long and hard way
I just say that according to the da’s comment I understood that he’s punishing a community for attempting to deal with this type of stuff ” not through the us court system”… It’s almost like they slapped on extra years to teach us that we will pay for that…. I don’t believe the accused should get more than the typically given years just because the court system is annoyed with the community’s approach… Just saying
its realy crazy
All you Satmar supporters of weberman. You abuse your women all the time – they can’t drive, work, shave their heads etc. There are many more webermans out there and they are going to be ratted out now. Why is 103 years too long? If he is guilty rot in hell? if he is not guilty that’s why we have an appeal process.
If you do the crime, do the time!
I agree. What is with the ellipses in this article? The fact that our chassidic community won’t even write certain words in the context of abuse is one of the fundamental issues. We need to be open about this and spread awareness of this type of abuse as a preventative measure so we stop these horrible horrible things from happening! All of this hush hush and these ellipses enable these issues in our communty and don’t let victims know they don’t need to be embarrassed and will have the courage to speak up. I’d rather a “pritzusdike” word be used… Read more »

thre was somewhere I could see the trial transcript. I too wonder about whether he is guilty. They WAS a trial and he WAS convicted, so I’d like to hear both sides and how the girl’s side’s stroy was more convincing.
As to the sentence – assuming he is guilty as charged, who among us is to judge what constitues “just” punishment for such crimes? What does or would the victim say? Were there more that were afraid to speak?

Apparently it is not just her word against his.
You say it’s bad, wrong, for them to put him in prison for 103 years??? What about what he did?? What would the victims feel like if their pain… was only worth 10 years for him, when he hurt them- in a way that they will be in pain all their lives.. You need to wake up. Did he ask mechillah from the victime? No! He still denies his crimes! Not only that but the whole community is denying them too! Instead of feeling guilty that this yiddishe neshoma went off the derech because of their distorted version of chinuch, they torture her and her family. Weberman’s sentencing is going to put some people in their place in the Satmar kehilla and hopefully the next time one of their “Rabonim” speaks publicly he won’t speak lashon horah about the victim and cover up for the villain. Yes, Hynes is doing a little too late for the past… Read more »
He will probably get re-elected since all the non jewish news agencies love him for throwing “dirty Hasidcs” in prison.
This is the risk of being a Frum Jew.
103 years instead of a “warning” for first offense.
Even people convicted raping and murdering the girl only spend 10-20 years.
Is this a Rubashkin repeat?
A Non Jew in Brooklyn would spend 30 days at most for this kind of abuse
Don’t worry. No one thinks you are perfect. Making an ‘example’ of Jews by giving them way more ‘justice’ than anyone else who committed the same major crime is a disturbing trend these days and does not indicate a change for the better. It is a sneaky form of anti-semitism that has nothing to do with a judge or jury’s support of a victim. If it’s not nipped in the bud, Jews in the future may be getting much worse even without adequate evidence to incriminate them. There’s a big issue out there that has been arising more and more… Read more »

The number 105 is to get peoples attention, It is saying NO MORE! It sets an example for others that commit such horrible abuse to our children who are our future generation. It could have well been 35 or 45 years. The man probably wont live that long anyway. Baruch Hashem,
The system worked this time, And nobody should give kibbud to this man by calling him a Rav. He is not a RAV! Ravs are not pedophiles. They are examples for us.
Your right that most pedophiles come from being abused as children..
BUT they only become a pedophile once they do it, and once they do- it becomes engrained in them, and very very hard to get cured.
as a lubavitcher, I feel it’s sickening that some commenters are gloating that he got life after cutting korf’s beard. He was a pisher at the time. 26 years of age. A major kanoii. Essentially he was a tzfati with langeh payos. Would you say a tzfati deserves life? Of course not! For his sin regarding Korf he needs teshuvah and perhaps a beating. No more. For his alleged molestation crimes he deserves to serve a few, but not life!!!
DONT COMMENT UNLESS YOU HEAR THE CASE FIRST HAND FROM BOTH SIDES
as many of you know frum communities so tend to shield and look the other way when molestation takes place. Or this is what I’ve been told numerous times. To all those who are saying that the sentence is excessive, remember the Torah’s story with Dinah. When they dared defile Dinah, her brothers knew how to respond. Would some say they responded excessively? Yes. But they knew otherwise, and that’s the example we have. HA’KEZONAH YAASEH ES ACHOSEINU! And that was even for one Yiddishe meidel, especially in this case, when the creep had multiple victims.
# 70. you obviously know nothing about being molested, Most children that are molested at a certain age will have the urge to repeat that to others of the age that he/she was abused. so are you saying every child who is abused should be locked up for life because they have the urge? “No one condones pedophiles”
I think murderers and molesters deserve the exact same sentence! Every murderer should get life imprisonment and every molester should get life imprisonment. If te justice system for some reason only gives a 30 year sentence to one of them well then THAT is the problem. He should have gotten life! Who are all you people to judge and say this is excessive punishment anyway?!
They can only be kept away from children and the temptation. The recidivism rate among these offenders is very high. He used power against the innocent, he damaged her life, he took thousands of dollars from her parents, he made a chillul hashem. And yes, a picture is needed. He doesn’t get the luxury of privacy. Of course his family is mortified.
Think about it for one minute if it was YOUR Daughter who suffered under his attack? A lifetime will not be enough for her to recover. Think about how much therapy, how much help she will need to overcome not only the actual incidents but the fact that this was a person her school and her parents and her community trusted. Obviously, after checking th facts more thoroughly, I came to the conclusion that this guy has serious issues. If he wasn’t given a life sentence, he would come out and continue his impulsive acts. The poor girl! The poor guy that did it, he probably has mental illnesses!
I think hynes comments are so anti-semmetic. No one condones pedophiles. We are against sending a man to jail for a crime he may not have done. That is a big difference.
What a chillul Hashem!
While I disagree with the people who claim that he is innocent, I am so much more disgusted at the people who think that even if he may be guilty that his sentence is excessive. This man *should* spend the rest of his life rotting away in jail for destroying this girl’s life, plus the lives of all the other victims who never came forward because they were scared and ashamed. Couple of things…..
1) What did he do to the girl?
2) What is this Korf incident?
After hearing this story I couldn’t help but wonder what type of punishment he would be receiving if we had a proper Jewish court system like back in the day?
imprisament for life, yes its tough, but amagine if you were treated like that. its somthing that effects life forever. loking at it like that, its all fair. one persone ruends somones live, his live gets ruened. its apsolutly faiir!!!!!!!!!!!
we need moshiach now! we cant let this go on eneymore. we all say we want moshiach, but what are we doing to bring him. yud shvat just past, lets tack a hachata for moshiach to come now!

Well lets see there was a camera in HIS office recording the entire abuse episodes and there were eyewitness in HIS office observing but that most have not been sufficent so the jury had to resort to other evidence- the girl herself
maybe he didnt even do it????
The justice is scapegoating this rabbi. He surely did not kill the girl. She is affected with emotional scars for many years, but with counselling and friendships, she will and can overcome to become a normal loving wife / mother. The guy should have gotten 25 years or less. Life we give to murderers, blood cold rapists… A Yid is capable of doing tshuva even when he gets out at 80 yrs old…Ditto for Bernie Madoff. Not Ditto for Pollard and Rubashkin, who don’t even deserve 10 years. It’s upside down the whole stinking system.
The killer got 40 years and this guy gets 103? something smells
THE PUNISHMENT MUST FIT THE CRIME, JUST LIKE PEOPLE SCREAM WHEN SOMEONE GETS TO LIGHT OF A PUNISHMENT SO TO YOU NEED TO PROTEST THE PUNISHMENT IS TO EXTREME.
I PERSONALLY THINK HE IS GUILTY, BUT MURDERERS USUALLY DON’T GET THIS MANY YEARS.
YES THE GIRL MAY BE DAMAGED BUT SHE IS NOT DEAD, SHE SUFFERED BUT IM SURE SHE WILL OVERCOME IT.
103 IS A BIT EXTREME
He consistently molested young girls, over & over. Pre meditated. He picked & groomed vulnerable girls who did not come from the ‘top families,’ and told them they would never be believed. Read what Rabbi Yaakov Horowitz says about other victims who have come to him but are too terrified to testify. If that girl walked in to his office and he killed her, how long do you think he deserves?
The point is clear we are hated, and treated like third class citizens.
We must stick together.
Let’s be real, at least with ourselves. Notwithstanding the need to punish crimes adequately, there is a very disturbing trend here to use much harsher sentences against religious Jews than any other single group in the United States. We’ve seen this increasingly in the past few years in many well known cases. This is JUST as distorted as the crimes themselves. If this is allowed to continue it can only result in Jews eventually being convicted of crimes they did not commit r”l.. and so on.
Comments like #46 betray a naive perception of justice in America today.
Back in 1984 a group of Satmar yungermen in Williamsburg were furious that, at invitation, Rabbi Pinchas Korf was secretly teaching Tanya to Satmar men. Weberman was part of a group that accosted Rabbi Korf & to punish him, cut off his beard. The perpetrators had no idea what would befall them…#37 has his facts right about what happened to the group who did it. He molested a 12 year old who came to him for help. Should the courts give him a less harsh sentence because he is jewish?
If in fact guilty (only Hashem knows for sure, humans must try to investigate) he deserves harsh punishment & deterrent for others…however NOT 103 years!!!! That’s probably more befitting of murderer to say the least. Thankfully the girl who has suffered terribly at least in this case is now happily married and though forever marred has done the best she could to rebuild her life. I’d say even 20 years a lot for this crime & I can speak.
On one hand, I hear those who think that 103 yrs is a bit excessive, and I know next to nothing about the legal justice system and don’t have an opinion. On the other, I think that there is room to make an example of someone, especially in this crime where the perpetrators are relying on the fact that they will not be prosecuted.
Please people like him dont deserve to think about possibility of Anti Antisemitism. I hope he rots there. Moshiach wouldnt even let him near
a rapist would get 10-15yrs behind bars, a molester-life.
a murderer 15-20yrs, a molester life.
not that molesters shouldnt be behind bars, everyone of them should be.
Why are you talking about beards?
For heavens sake, what evidence is there??????????
Her word against his????????
How do people know that he is guilty????
What if the accused, was……YOU???
The fact that Sandusky got 30 years is a disgrace to the “Justice” system. We should be outraged that he did not get more time, not that Weberanimalnotman got what he got. If you think that time is too much, you do not understand what abuse does not only to the victim, but to the victims family, and community!!!
There are other victims. Have heard a few have just come forward
There were. 5 people involved in the story with reb pinya. 2 died young, 1 had a nervous breakdown and. Is not functioning 1 turned Lubavitcher and weber man asked mechilla a year later and was told to go to ask the rebbe. He did eventually go to the ohel for that
Didnt the man repent and go to the Ohel and ask for forgiveness? Im just saying I read in an article that he did and besides think about this…murderers get less time. Personally I think pedophiles should get way more than 10 yrs but look at the cases in general. None of them get 103 yrs and priests for sure didn’t get that.I hate pedophiles as much as anyone else and I believe he is guilty BUT something bothers me about the 103 yrs.It really bothers me only bec after looking at the judicial system, this is way over the… Read more »
I had it confirmed. He spent a long time @ the Ohel asking the Rebbe for Mechila after Reb Pinye told him the Rebbe is the one to beg mechila from.
Nasty story. If he’s guilty he deserves every day of the sentence and so does every pervert who preys on his (or her!!) victims. Maybe this will get sickos to seek help to control their urges, but I fear not. They never think they’ll get caught.
For all those that keep saying that there is no jail time in Torah,
you obviously haven’t been learning the Rambam lately.
In certain cases they put a person in jail and fed him barley till his stomach platzed and he died.
Jerry Sandusky got 30 years, for being involved with 15 kids , this is open anti semitisiom. We need to support a new candidate for Brooklyn da
There is a difference between non-premeditated murder & systematic abuse as was the case with Weberman. I think it is entirely possible for some murderers to be rehabilitated, but for a man like Weberman, it’s highly unlikely rehabilitation would work, especially if he’s a sociopath. In any event, he won’t last a fraction of the time he’s been sentenced in jail (child molesters are particularly unloved in prison). Hopefully, his sentencing & demise will deter other molesters in the Jewish community.
What does halacha say about these cases?
he got all the years because he had a massive count number, 52 i believe…..not because he was jewish, this is how sentencing works ACCORDING TO THE LAW! each count carries a certain number of years as punishment, DUH!
although the press did have a field day with this, no denying that but they should have! the days of taking these cases and throwing them under the rug ruins innocent jewish lives and leaves even more scars when a victim sees his or her family not give a hoot.
is it neccessary it put a picture of him?
his family must be mortified!
If he is really guilty ,were this my daughter I would be furious…I would want to tear him into pieces…If not stopped I probably might.
However, it’s ‘Hashgacha Pratis’ for whatever reason. Also, after I calmed down (About 10 years later…joke)
There is much written about imprisonment, which has no place in ‘Torah’ and is a cruel system.
Some say ‘Satmar’ is so restricted that it creates this type of behavior…forget not that there are ‘Lubavitchers’ who seem guilty of this.
The ‘yetzer hara’ doesn’t wear a ‘Streimel.’
to # 15,,, veru true analogy
but you are misleading and fooling yourself..
Levi Aron did something once,
this guy did something over and over again for 3+ years
ok lets give hin 5 years for each charge,
thats 3+ years times 5 years jail. hhhmmm 103 years are a drop in the bucket,,,
I firmly believe in ,,, “you do the crime do the time” you cant handle the time,,, dont do the crime….
I Heard that he came to Reb Pinya to ask for Mechilla, and Reb Pinya replied to him, that he should ask by the Rebbe.
It makes sense that he was involved in the beard incident – he comes from a Malochim family and it was the Malochim-turned-Satmar who were the ringleaders of the torment against Chabad at the time. (Had Reb Yoilish been physically well and in real control, these hooligans would have been in cherem and then some – they were fringe elements to begin with.)
Regardless of Weberman’s past, 103 years is just fine for his present offenses.
May this be a lesson to all, and may … abuse be something the jewish community doesn’t need to face, though sadly… it is..
Antisemitism????
Are you living on a barren island? There was no antisemitism just plain old proof from many girls nebach, but only one had the guts to speak out.
May he rot in jail forever.
Finally some justice. I would say it pains me to see a jew facing such a sentence but he hardly acted like a jew abusing not only single girls but married women as well. He abused the Torah to mess with peoples heads. Evil!
i think he definitely deserves his fair share of time in jail but what i don’t understand is how there are stories in the news of murder and those people go to jail maybe for 30 years..not life!!!!!!!!!! how is murder worse then this? if anything they are equal!
our justice system needs some major help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MOSHIACH NOW
can you verify that he actually was involved in shaving Reb Pinye’s beard? I would really like to know.
Thank you
Before I get to my main point, he was the one who shaved off Rabbi Korf’s beard?
I am disheartened by the state of justice in this country. If the alleged acts occurred, that’s horrible and justice should be served, but 103 years is beyond excessive. I can’t recall a murder who ever had such a long sentence.
Clearly, fear of G-d was not enough. Let us hope that by the time he gets out he is either incapable of repeating those awful actions or has enough fear of the authorities of this world so that he won’t recommit.
To the young lady involved…we each wish you and this jerk’s other victims a full complete and speedy recovery from these horrible incidents. (Sorry, I don’t know what word to use.) You’ve shown that you have the strength, remember that when things get rough.
Even if 103 years is too much for this one case. He is now going to pay for what he didn’t get for attempted murder on Reb Pinyah Korf, and what a hasgocha protis that it came on yud alef shvat. The message is clear the Rebbe takes care of his chassidim.
if he is guilty it is inexcusable but what we shouold all be petrified of is also the sentencing itself this is the same system that allows murderers to get a few measly years and others sentences for their life many times based on what point they are trying to prove or which stand they are trying to take the sentence is excessive for the court of law and in any case jail time is not the way Torah set out to take care of things either the ability of individuals in the court systems to put people away for… Read more »
Levi aaron- self confessed butcher – 40 yrs
Webberman- No evidence!!!-103 yrs?????
I am a believer of the neccessity of justice, yet when it is beyond excessive, it hurts the cause of justice. To sentence a man to life for such a crime is beyond crazy. Murderers are rarely sentenced to 103 years. I can’t quantify the amount of time that is right, yet I know excessive when I see it and 103 years…
i dont think prison is the perfect solution. this guy needs major therapy as well!!!!
One sick girls testimony against another! ..and what if all this is NOT true????? There was no tangible evidence! Only one persons word against another
so he can do it again in 10 years??????? I think the punishment fits the crime in this case – he robbed a young woman of a normal life – therefore he deserves no life of freedom!!!
no matter what he did, no one deserves 103 yrs in prison! its to much! we need moshiach!
I don’t see antisemitism , in 3 lives or 450 year sentence he will not heal the damage he did abusing his position, this is not a raper from a corner , he manipulated using his religious investiture , if is true of course all accusations is very well deserved
What about the victim?! your nothing but selfish!
While I am releived and happy that a pedophile will be punished, I’m uneasy that anti semitism and anti religious played a part in this sentence.
to #3. Life imprisonment is nothing and not excessive for the life of imprisonment he put that girl through. This should serve as a lesson to all the other molesters and pedophiles out there.
Wow that is crazy
This will hopefully place the fear of G-d in those who think about perpetrating such evil!
life imprisonment seems a little excessive ..i think it’s profiling again like rubashkin…i don’t condone his actions by any means, but a 10 year sentence would have been harsh enough
maybe on appeal it can change
the one who shaved pinya korfs beard
