he is my cousin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
why didnt u go 2 aunt judys party??????
ur cousins in manhattan
go reuven centner
Before electricity every street was dark, except for the candlelight of yidden learning thru the night. (That in itself made the illiterate goyim angry.) On nittel there was excessive shikruss, a focus on yoshkeleh, so it was dangerous to sit by the candle and learn.
In Ger they go to sleep early and rise at chatzos, when the klippos have dispersed. Not much joy in that.
Hi Eli k!
you make me laugh!!! 😀
the rebbe sat on nittel nacht and played chess, so now it is a “minhag” to play chess in 770
why u being so negative?? the excitement is equal (atleast i hope so)
I saw this from the Frierdiker Rebbe that says this (though maybe also the Tzemach Tzedek) and it says it the way 53 says etc…
hi everyone
I never seen so many chess boards in 770 in my life
What the Tzemach Tzedek says is, that if you dont keep a Minhag then you get the opposite of minhag (which in hebrew will read….) or something like that, but not that by keeping a minhag do you go to… Chas Vesholom.
way to go Avraham from ur cuz
All of you should stop focusing on what you think everyone is doing wrong and instead look at yourselves. Because the fault you see in someonelse is really in you!
Ari Rubin!
as per the Tzemach Tzedek, the letters of “minhag” are the same as “gehenom”
minhag yisroel torah hoo.
So who do you consider a better chess player Boris Spassky or Bobby Fischer?
How exactly do you see that its taken so seriously?
There is like no one playing! (less than 00.1%)
They sit and learn every night besides nittel,so next time don’t be so quick to judge be Dan l’kav schus,
P.S. mum shebicha al tomar lechavercha!
AVROHOM SCHNEERSON CAN BEAT ANYONE BECAUSE HE’S KNOWING TINGS……….
all the inyan questions are totally pathetic they are such boy qestions bocherim judt get over it and stop asking silly questions
ppl take it so seriously…like its a sin if u dont play
Any Questions about Nittel Nacht could be found in a booklet made by Rabbi M. Blau (there were lots of them in 770), it covers everything about Nittel, (including who’s minhag etc…).
The Kedushas Tziyon of Bobov hy”d zy”a explaining the minhag to not learn on Nittel Nacht, it’s very interesting: Read more »
Are you sure the Vilna Goan did not learn on Nittel! I think he did, it is a minhag that other people have but not that many it is something that has been told to us by OUR rabbeim
I never knew there were so many good chess players in lubavitch! yeah!! They were amazing!
who asked for your random opinion
yechi adoneino morainu virabeinu melech hamoshiach leolam vaed
Michael Shushan you Da-Bomb!!
we have minhagim for a nonjewish holiday?
oy, moshiach now!
The rule is that a chess clock goes on whatever side black wants. In regards to greatness of chess see several volume book bio of Rebbe called yamai hamelech page 1000
so happens to be that in lubavitch when learning also, we sit across eachother p.s. Raksin, your getting wouped
thats all thats counts
in 770 bc they always want to be near the rebbe even while playing chess
why chess
Wow, it was really amazing how these peaple played so fast, and I was so impressed of the young bochur mayzlesh (brother of mendel) how he would just resign the game because he saw in like 20 moves it would be over, and then no one would know who won and he would tell us. (though shushan played sometimes till he was checkmated).
We Love Chaim!
love it!
When I was in yeshiva we learned bchavrusa sitting oppiste of each other.
you are pathetic
Don’t just complain.
has to be to the right of player who plays black.
you should be more accurate in your repotring and say that it is a jewish minhag
There are many, many rabonim throughout history who stopped learning and played chess durring the nittle nacht for the same reasons we do and they were not e en chasidim such as the vilna gaon
Once again we see how the missinformed make claims as if chabad invented most of jewdaism
Look at all of them! they are playing with such concentration!! i dont think they have such concentration for learning!
THE FRIEDIEKER REBBE PLAYED WITHOUT A HAT!!
I SUPPOSE WE CAN RENAME IT “NITTEL TORAH”
Im glad they are taking it seriously!
Have you noticed when playing chess, people are opposite each other, AGAINST each other. When learning Torah they are Next to each other. Anyone care to enlighten us with regards to this, on the difference b/w Kedushas and Klipah. (After nitel !)
Can you play checkers?
Does it have to be in 770?
the tzfatims concentration levels in these games.hilarious!!
mendy gelber, how did you do?
hey chaim (mayzlesh) youre in so many pictures, but who is that older person youre playing with?
you cant do mivtzoim on nittel
what about allthe people in new york without menorahs
I testify that many of those bachurim learn diligintly. You need to work on ‘dam l’kaf zechus’.
is it an inyan to play chess with hats and jackets?
are you yotze with ping pong intstead of chess?
eli K.
Nice!
Halevai these great masmidim would apply themselves to learning during the rest of the year with the same geshmak that they have when the bring the chessboards to shul?
go eli kreiman!
Moshiach NOW! 🙂
