President Donald Trump announced on Thursday night that he and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for Coronavirus.
The couple has been in contact and traveled with Trump’s re-election campaign adviser Hope Hicks who tested positive, leading the president and Mrs. Trump to get tested themselves.
“We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately,” the President wrote on Twitter, adding: “We will get through this TOGETHER!”
The news will likely have a wide ranging impact on White House and government operations, as well as Trump’s re-election campaign against former Vice President Joe Biden.
At this point, no other administration official has reported being infected as well.
Trump, 74, isn’t the first head of state to be infected with Covid-19. Others include Britain’s Boris Johnson and Brazil’s Jair Bolsonaro.
In a statement, White House physician Commander Sean Conley wrote:
“The President and First Lady are both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence.
“The White House medical team and I will maintain a vigilant watch, and I appreciate the support provided by some of our country’s greatest medical professionals and institutions.
“Rest assured I expect the President to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering, and I will keep you updated on any future developments.”

Yes, I agree that at the beginning of corona, it was dangerous as they knew nothing about it. The hospitals were killing people. Yet as soon as people stopped going to the hospital, and the spread lowered down everyone was fine. Name one death that you recently heard of. Exactly, there are none. All our kids went to camp and came back just fine, not one of them had Covid. Unlike the the flu Corona has a treatment you can take. bruh, i went to camp and for a weekend mysteriously in the first week we all got sick. i was stuck in my bed for two days, with a cold, head-ache, stuffed nose, sneezing, and slight loss of scent, and you say nobody got covid in camp?
