An act of kindness shown by an officer of the New York Police Department (NYPD) at a kosher dairy restaurant in Crown Heights Wednesday has left witnesses very impressed.
According to a bystander, a female officer walked into the Chocolatte cafe on Kingston Avenue and Eastern Parkway on Wednesday. Alongside her was a woman who apparently is experiencing homelessness.
“The officer told the woman to buy whatever she wanted,” the person told COLlive.com. “She was able to get coffee, pastries and more food items. The woman was very grateful and kept adding more items to the counter.”
The officer, apparently, didn’t mind.
According to the person, the officer responded: “No problem, no problem.” The officer paid for everything the woman put on the counter, gave her the change, and helped put the items in a bag.
“Everyone in the store was impressed by the officer’s act of kindness,” he said, and added that it was a beautiful sight to see. He said that another customer bought a coffee for the officer as a gesture of appreciation.
“I wish there were more police officers who showed empathy and care for the less fortunate,” he added.
A representative of the 71st Precinct, which covers Crown Heights, confirmed the identity of the officer as Lisa Williams-Peter.
The precinct praised the officer’s actions, saying that she is a great example of the values and mission of the NYPD. “We are proud of her and all the officers who serve the community with dignity and respect,” they said.

Nothing but praise to this police officer for being so nice and caring, all respects
And I bet there are more like this
Moved to tears
Its so nice read about kindness!
The police officer did unbelievable Chessed we can all learn from her.
Kindness changes the world, be that change!
the beauty of this occurrence is somewhat tainted for me by the bystander person’s comment “I wish there were more police officers who showed empathy and care for the less fortunate”
Why assume there are NOT more police officers like this one?
And did this bystander ever do this for someone?
Why not simply admire/honor this person and act?
all,jews,should.be.like.that
Bh there are lots of good ppl out there. We need more!
