U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and federal law enforcement were in New York City on Tuesday as part of a national crackdown on illegal immigration.
According to NBC News, at least 4,829 arrests have been made in these crackdowns since President Donald Trump took office. In September 2024, the Biden administration averaged 282 arrests per day. Over the past six days, the Trump administration’s daily average has risen to 753.
Newly sworn-in Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem personally participated in the New York raids shortly after 5:00 AM.
“Just now. Enforcement operation in NYC. Criminal alien with kidnapping, assault & burglary charges is now in custody—thanks to @ICE. Dirtbags like this will continue to be removed from our streets,” she wrote on social media.
Noem later addressed a gathering of ICE, Secret Service, U.S. Marshals Service, and NYPD Special Ops agents during an operational briefing in New York City.
Mayor Eric Adams confirmed the NYPD’s involvement, stating, “We will not hesitate to partner with federal authorities to bring violent criminals to justice.” Governor Kathy Hochul echoed his stance, emphasizing that ICE has long conducted raids targeting serious offenders.
New York Attorney General Letitia James, also a Democrat, issued a warning: “I am monitoring the situation to ensure our laws are being respected and people’s rights are not being violated. We have sent guidance to law enforcement, and it must be followed.”
Some residents in Hispanic and Black communities supported Tuesday’s immigration raids, which targeted suspected violent criminals, according to the New York Post.
A Jewish resident of the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn said that the raids impacted his cleaning help. According to 2 voice notes shared with COLlive.com, some Hispanic domestic workers in Crown Heights reported being stopped and questioned by ICE agents.
One woman recounted her experience: “I was walking near Lefferts when men in a van approached me. They had IDs around their necks and asked for my papers. I was so scared—I just stayed quiet, like I was told to do. Another woman with me was taken into the van.”
Another worker described a similar encounter: “I got off the train at Sterling and saw a van. Agents approached me, showed their IDs, and started asking questions. I was shaking—I’m still shaking while working. I was so scared.”

Wow this is going to be a big hit for good or bad. What about Jewish immigrants ? What can we do about not tearing family’s apart ect and in general this is a scary thought to be taken away from a place you’ve been working or living for years ..
I would hope that there are not many Jewish people in that situation. Although you rightly make a case for compassion, Jews have a special privilege: we have a homeland elsewhere that we can go to, and perhaps will experience even more fulfillment as a people, if we should choose to go. So there is always that, as a place for Jewish families to be together. Eretz Israel.
At the end of the day, it’s up to Jews to follow the law of the land. If the Jews went through the proper chanels to get a visa or citizenship, then they shouldn’t worry. But if they broke the law and skirted the system, consequences are a thing – no matter who you are

By the two large corner buildings by 899 Montgomery St & 921 Montgomery St (corner Schenectady Ave) there are the illegal gangster criminals that live in the building, I think NYC puts those migrants there (it’s seems to be NYC homeless shelter operated building, police gets called there 20 times a day, the migrant residents/tenants are dangerous) so ICE should know where to catch them

Many times he’s violently accosting the most vulnerable Lubavitchers, harassing mothers and children walking by that unsafe building (it’s probably the most unsafe building in Crown Heights). DHS/ICE go pick him up.
The entire 451 Kingston Ave should be shipped out of America, this building is destroying CH. Muggings, shootings, assaults, kidnappings, the government sponsored tenants AND their visitors that frequent the building to buy & sell drugs are responsible for half the crime in the area. There is a homeless shelter complex in Crown Heights South that was recently approved by Brooklyn Community Board 9. It’s under construction in middle of being built, located at 329 Clarkson Ave in Brooklyn, it seems like majority of the construction workers at this location don’t speak a word of English and are not American citizens…
