While many Shluchim are attending the Kinus hashluchim this week, head shliach of Spain Rabbi Yitzchok Goldstein of Madrid was far away in the city of Cordoba, Spain.
In a Sicha (summer 5738) the Rebbe said that it is important to print a Tanya in every location in the world where a Jew lives.
Cordoba, the birthplace of the Rambam, was thought to have no Jews living there at this time, until one Shabbos 3 weeks ago, when a guest at Rabbi Goldstein’s table mentioned that his cousin lives there.
Rabbi Goldstein immediately began planning to print a Tanya there, and not long afterwards traveled to Cordoba on 27 Marcheshvam 5771, for the printing of the very first Tanya in the city.
Rabbi Goldstein has also printed Tanyas in the Spanish cities of Madrid and Malaga, in Elul of 5738.
