“Unit Chitas,” a division of Chayolei Tzivos Hashem of Lubavitcher Yeshiva, Crown Heights, visited Atlantic City this weekend for a shabbaton.
“It’s been well deserved” said one of the participants of this long awaited Shabbaton, as 10 students of Lubavitcher Yeshivah’s Unit Chitas packed a van for Atlantic City on Friday morning.
Mivtzoim on an empty boardwalk followed a very wild yet uplifting Shabbos.
At Shul, every member of the community was filled with excitement and emotion as the “bochurlets”, as they were quickly nicknamed, created a very inspirational atmosphere. It was therefore, no surprise that one member of the Shul could not hold back his tears during Davening and several people came early the next morning to spend even more time with the “bochurlets.”
Even a spontaneous dance in middle of the Street at 8:15am came as no surprise for an early Shul goer. “The atmosphere was changed from the very beginning of Shabbos,” he declared.
Shabbos Afternoon continued with special activities and a one of a kind farbrengen with Rabbi Avrohom Rapaport, Shliach to the growing Jewish community of Ventnor, New Jersey. The Farbrengen evolved around the topic of Mivtzoim and many took on new Hachlotos to start going on Mivtzoim even before their Bar Mitzvahs.
Shabbos concluded with a unique Havdalah ceremony on the beach, just steps away from roaring waves. Then, not far down the Road was “Lucie,” a six story Elephant, one of the city’s most well known attractions.
“Have you ever met the tallest man in the world?”
“Well, that’s precisely who we met as we topped off the trip with a stop at Ripley’s believe it or not!” said one happy, (and a little spooked) camper.
“This was the time of our lives” – believe it or not!

They weren’t in the casinos gambling , there are definitely no sunbathers on the beach this time of year- so what exactly would be the problem. In what way would Washington D.C. or any other place be more appropriate?
F Y I AC in the winter the women are more covered up then CH in the winter…but i do agree… you should be sorry.
but to go to atlantic city is just not appropriate for yeshiva bochurim, especialy on an official yeshiva trip, and noch to put iot on COL?
