Recently, over 300 of Toronto’s community leaders and business people gathered at The Grand Luxe Event Boutique for the “One Person. One World.” Chabad of York Mills Gala Dinner.
Launching their $9,000,000 capital campaign to build the Bayview Centre for Jewish Life, Chabad of York Mills, led by Rabbi Levi and Rivky Gansburg, honored Dr. Sylvester Chuang, president of AWIN Automotive Group and a pediatric neuroradiologist at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, who helped facilitate the recent $3.5M purchase property at the corner of one of Canada’s most prestigious streets.
The evening included a silent and live auction, video presentations, awards and an address by Rabbi Yossi Jacobson.
Since opening its doors six and a half years ago, Chabad of York Mills has established numerous initiatives, including: Hebrew School of the Arts, Garden Preschool, Garden Camp, jTeens, Jewish Lawyers Network, Chabad Young Professionals and the Bayview Shul.
Assisting in making the ongoing programs and the gala dinner a success are Chani Shuchat and Fraidel Wolowik who are on Shluchus in York Mills for the year.
