B”H

I was very pleasantly surprised to see such a well produced music video done by religious people. A powerful song with a simple and clear message.
Albeit the whole “I had a near death experience, so now I’ll become frum” thing is a bit cheesy, but when I saw the tehillim that was thoughtfully put there by his mother I realized that that is the real reason he returned to yiddishkeit.
Bravo Yoni Z and all of the people who helped make this video! May you be blessed to make many more of the same caliber!

When the father was scared that he would be ch’v that love comes to the fore. Let’s love our children for who they are. Ours, Jewish, and G-dly!

There might be less drug and alcohol abuse for “otd community” if they have a better support system from friends and family and are actually able to explore other sects of Judaism without feeling like they have been excommunicated. Especially in the more stricter sects where they are not given the tools to survive outside the community most turn to drugs. Remember drugs is an everyone problem and most addictions stem from trying to fill the love not provided earlier in life. Accept and love your children for the lives they choose to live. Judaism comes in all shapes and… Read more »

We agree that this is a very well made film. As far as the message, it’s not stereotyping. It’s a video about a particular story (true or fictitious).

Either way, it was very well made and a very nice song.

Thanks

I hope all such children should come back home to their parents and families and to yiddishkeit! Amena

AWSOME !!!!

Beautiful, Powerful, BUT
October 27, 2015 3:07 pm

there is a stereotype that all who go OTD end up in alcohol/drugs and wasting away their lives. This is false-there are those who leave for thought out reasons, who simply join the secular world and pursue its goals–they do not take drugs or alcohol, and would not likely end up as this video shows, yet they are just as much in need of outreach, and certainly the parents are in just as much pain

Yes.
