Yaldei Shluchei HaRebbe hosted its first summertime fundraiser this past week at the Prospect Park Picnic House.
The event, a men’s BBQ, honored Rabbi Yisroel Wilhelm, Shliach to the university of Colorado , Yaldei board member and the father of a child with special needs. The event brought together over 200 men from the NY metro area.
Those present were given a firsthand account by Rabbi Wilhelm of the journey of a shliach raising a child with special needs and the important role Yaldei has played in navigating that hectic life. Remarks were made by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos, celebrating the great work of Yaldei and encouraging the community to participate in its future. Rabbi Gershon Sabol spoke regarding the future of Yaldei’s programming and plans to expand and a new residency initiative.
The BBQ brought awareness of Yaldei’s mission and programing to the community.
