24 hours before Hei Teves begins, there will be a Global Webcast where tens of thousands of Chassidim from around the world will unite in a special program marking Hei Teves on Thursday, Or l’yom 4 Teves (December 21) in the evening broadcast live on www.Chabad.org/OrVechom.
Drawing on the increased level of awareness among Anash in recent years about the importance that this spiritual battle held in the eyes of the Rebbe and the extraordinary efforts he invested into assuring the nitzachon, Chabad educators and principals are once again coordinating an educational campaign to bring Hei Teves into dozens of classrooms around the world.
A special conference call was held on Sunday, launching the special campaign over the course of the week leading up to Hei Teves. The dozens of participants were briefed on the details of the curriculum being offered, as well as plans that are underway to launch a similar campaign for the upcoming 30th Anniversary of the Rebbetzin’s Yahrtzeit on 22 Shevat of this year.
At the center of this Hei Teves educational campaign is a curriculum that is rich with exciting and compelling material that is being provided to teachers so that they can convey the incredible messages of this Yom Tov in the appropriate way: translated Sichos of the Rebbe, video clips of the Rebbe’s Farbrengens and celebrations of the victory, kisvei yad and other exhibits relevant to Hei Teves. The curriculum was coordinated by JEM and Vaad Or Vechom HaHiskashrus.
Rabbi Yisroel Spalter – on behalf of the Vaad – is coordinating this Campaign together with Principals from around the country:
Rabbi Benzion Korf – Dean of Lubavitch Educational Center, Miami
Rabbi Hershel Lusting – Dean of Oholei Torah, Brooklyn, NY
Rabbi Yosef Minkowitz – Dean and Principal of Beis Rivkah, Montreal
Rabbi Yonah Shur – Cheder Chabad, Toronto
Rabbi Yitzchok Wolf – Dean of Cheder Lubavitch, Chicago
Rabbi Avrohom Wolowik – Executive Director of Cheder Chabad of Baltimore
In addition to the materials presented in curriculum format for schools, the Vaad has also coordinated various other items to be made available to the public that wishes to prepare for this “Yom Segulah” – as the Rebbe referred to it – in the appropriate manner:

Over the course of time before, during and after the trial, the Rebbe regularly referenced the kitrug and subsequent geulah of the Alter Rebbe on Yud Tes Kislev, making it clear to all Chassidim how much was at stake regarding the definition of a Rebbe and his sacred and loving relationship to Chassidim. This message, of course, resonates quite strongly for the young generation today that seeks to strengthen its connection to the leader of our generation, the Rebbe.
May the Aibershter grant us all success in that endeavor leading us to the ultimate Geulah, the coming of Moshiach immediately.
I should still have it somewhere. If I can find it I will forward the image to Collive. I was hired in the 80’s by Reb Gershon Jacobson to attend the courtcase and I did a few sketches that appeared in the Algemeiner. Will Look tonight !
