Winter Road Trip for JETS Boys

Students of the JETS school in California have recently returned from their second winter road trip.

11 students from London, Manchester, Moscow, New York, Montreal and Toronto united for a 10 day trip along the west coast, from Los Angeles to Tucson, Phoenix, northern Arizona, and finally San Diego.

The trip was directed by JETS Creative Director Menachem Weinstein along with shluchim Meir Ovadia Albukerk, Avi Baumgarten and Zalman Jacobson.

The boys were hosted by Shluchim Rabbi Deitsch in Chandler, Rabbi Polinchenko of San Diego and the Laytin family in Tucson.

Trips included paintball, laser tag, golf, biking along Pacific Beach, go karting, camping, trampoline dodge ball, bowling, rope climbing and more.

Activities included camp fires, learning and davening, intense deep conversation, and a culinary experience throughout by Chef Vadi Albukerk.

The trip mainly focused on understanding the importance of unity and prayer, having daily learning sessions on those subjects and general discussions around the bonfires during camping.

“This is a truly exceptional experience for these boys,” said Menachem Weinstein. “We will keep on doing our shlichus, and continue to make this annual trip bigger and better.”
