Albany Avenue in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights was the setting Wednesday afternoon to a brief chase that ended unexpectedly.
A black teen assaulted a married Lubavitch man near Apple Bank on the corner of Eastern Parkway and Albany Avenue.
The Lubavitcher, although sustaining wounds to his face, began chasing after the youngster down Albany Avenue, with the help of a bystander.
The two shouted “stop him, grab him,” an eyewitess told COLlive.
The screaming prompted a vigilant store manager to run over and ambush the teenager, delivering him right into the hands of two policemen standing on the corner of Albany and Empire.
Hatzalah arrived at the scene shortly afterward, and took the Lubavitcher for treatment. The teenager was arrested.
Later, the police detained the injured Lubavitcher, handcuffing him while he was still hospitalized for his injuries. His attacker was been released.
