Rebbetzin Tzipora Lau, the wife of Israel’s Ashkenazic Chief Rabbi David Lau, suffered an apparent stroke while spending the Pesach holiday with her family in Crete, the largest of the Greek islands.
She was rushed to a local hospital on Shvi’i shel Pesach and was then flown to Israel on an intensive care aircraft and a special medical team. She underwent catheterization at the Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikvah.
Mrs. Lau, 53, is the daughter of Rabbi Yitzchak Ralbag, rabbi of the Maalot Dafna neighborhood in Jerusalem and a member of the Chief Rabbinical Council of Israel.
On Sunday morning, Mrs. Lau underwent another complex operation, according to reports. Doctors said that she is not in life-threatening danger but was still in critical condition.
In a public call, her husband Rabbi Lau asked for prayers to be said in the merit of her recovery. A Mitzvos campaign was launched in her merit on Charidy.com/harabanit.
Her name is Feiga Tzipora bas Hadassa.
Best wishes for a complete — and speedy — recovery!!
Refuah Shelaima!!!
