With a unique approach to the year of Hakhel. JEM has set itself a goal of uniting 3,600 in their mission to bring the Rebbe’s inspiring messages to the world.
In 1980 a few visionary young Chabad Yeshiva students started producing a live feed of the Rebbe’s public gatherings around the major holidays, and broadcasting them on cable television.
This began a new era of sharing the Rebbe’s message with the world at large.
36 years later these and other footage and photos have become a tremendous treasure trove of inspiring messages and lessons in life, for thousands of people around the world who yearn to hear a message of moral clarity in a time the world is confused and in disarray.
JEM has been successful in distilling these messages down to minute size anecdotes and soundbites. With a weekly video magazine of the Rebbe’s talks, songs, stories and advice.
“When I gather my family or my community to watch a video of the Rebbe, it opens up meaningful conversations about Judaism, Torah and the purpose of life.” says Rabbi Berel Levertov of the Santa Fe Jewish Center in New Mexico. “The one-minute daily Whatsapp videos are like a shot in the arm to go take on the day and make the world a better place. I draw so much inspiration listening to the Rebbe talk from the heart.”
This year is the yeah of Hakhel, the first year of the seven-year cycle, when all the Jews adults, children and even infants would gather in Jerusalem to listen to the King and be inspired to strengthen their bond to G-d and the Torah.
JEM wants to unite 3,600 people to help continue the inspiration, by donating and becoming partners to help share the Rebbe’s message with the world.
On Monday, March 14, JEM is running a unique campaign to help fund 20% of their annual budget, or $500,000.
“More than the funds, we are seeking to engage people in becoming partners and teachers.” says Rabbi Elkanah Shmotkin, Executive Director of JEM “In today’s era of social media, we have the ability to share the Rebbe’s unique message with millions of people. If there were 3,600 people invested in upholding the mechanism and improving the tools of dissemination, there would be another 3,600 people sharing these stories and messages with their circle of friends.”
“I believe we can do it. I hope you will be part of this exciting campaign!” he adds.
