An Israeli Chabad rabbi who criticized the use of the internet has a website and domain in his name.
The web site www.gluckowsky.com is dedicated to the classes of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Gluckowsky, leader of the Chabad community in Rechovot, Israel.
Gluckowsky, a native of Canada, has criticized the use of the Internet in Chassidic homes and warned of its possible dangers for youngsters and adults.
The new website is operated by a member of his community, who specified on the site, “not to be seen as an ‘OK’ for the use of internet.”
It includes video and audio of shiurim and classes on the Jewish home, halacha, Chassidus and other topics – some filmed by COLlive.com and COL.org.il.
UPDATE (November 04, 2009 9:36 PM EST): Contents of the website have been removed and a message reads: “The site is closed. Please listen on the shiurim of rav Gluckowsky on Machon Kol Mevasser.”

the site shouldn’t close.
the rav should have the wahoozis to declare that internet is like the rest of klipas noga.
we have to use what is neutral for good, and what is treif is treif. the4 whole internet is NOT treif.
we can shop in costco and buy the kosher stuff and not buy the treif stuff. costco is not treif just becuase it sells treif.
we are people of choice. life has choices.
learn how to make choices.
teach people how to make choices.
don’t spoon feed them. it falsely makes you the king and them the infant.
The site is closed.
Please listen on the shiurim of rav Gluckowsky on Machon Kol Mevasser
The Rebbe was staunchly against TV and was broadcasted on TV, Enought said.
So right. Just leave him alone-he did nothing wrong
thanks #7 for the info only some know
this and other rabbonim are regulars on COL….
I dont want to sound like i am against him but tthis is hypocryicy
Doesn’t it say: “The new website is operated by a member of his community” created the website??? Why do you put it as though “he” “has” a website of “his” own… Your contradicting yourself. Thats it.
huh? can’t have it both ways. you don’t put an ad in a paper you say is not to be read.
he is so right! no reason for this article to be said in such a negative tone.
this chasuve rov not only knows this website (and others) but also recently held a Bais Din meeting discussing the comments on col
and the amount of comments and articles he quoted clearly indicated how well versed he is with the lubavitch websites
“In other news, the Lubavitcher Rebbe was broadcast live on television, even though he strongly urged his followers not to have television sets in their homes.”
Slow news day?
Why are peoplealways being put down?? He’s right, the Internet is a bad thing to have in the house, but nowadays it’s hard to do things without it and at least he’s using the internet to teach Torah to others
for the tip
i always wanted an ein yaakov shiur
