Jewish people of all ages will be celebrating the completion of learning the Rambam’s Mishneh Torah series, a daily ritual aimed to unite Jews and grow in knowledge.
This will be the 32nd learning cycle first established by the Rebbe in 1984 to learn the laws of the Torah as arranged by the Rambam, one of the most prolific and influential Torah scholars and physicians of the Middle Ages.
Three tracks of study were set up: 3-chapters-a-day cycle completing the Mishne Torah in less than a year, a 1-chapter-a-day cycle that completes the work in less than 3 years and a daily review of Sefer Hamitzvos for children.
Celebrations will be held around the world with the central event “Siyum Harambam Haolomi” taking place this Wednesday night, 8:00 pm at Oholei Torah – 667 Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn, NY.
Organizers point out that the celebration takes on an additional meaning this year as it being the year of Hakhel – Jewish unity. Addressing the event will be renowned rabbis and scholars.
Niggunim will be played by singer Beny Friedman accompanied by musician Chony Milecki.
There will be a special program for children and a special section for women.
