Thank you for the informative shiur, but I am still confused! Perhaps you did not wish to poskin on this issue (as you indicated there are many opinions) but I am still unclear as to whether wearing DAVKA a baseball cap (inside or out) is permitted. It seems the 4 problematic issues are: 1) Is the brim OVER a tefach? 2) Is the brim of a STIFF material? 3) Is the brim ROUNDED? 4) Is your intention to keep away bugs or shade from the sun? To use a shlak, it must be at least partially closed before sunset, and stay that way until it’s dark. After that you can open it, and then when it rains you can close it again.
