Police are requesting that the public continue to Daven with their porch minyanim on their own blocks through the holiday of Shavuos and until further notice.
“770 continues to be closed to the public,” Detective Vinny Martinos of the 71st Precinct told COLlive. “Please do not come to pray for Shavuot. Please do not pray outside of 770. Please continue to social distance and pray from your homes, yards, and porches. The 71 Precinct greatly appreciates your cooperation in these tough times,” he said.
Organizers of AseresHadibros.com, an interactive database listing porch minyanim throughout Crown Heights, encouraged residents to continue to daven near their homes, and to find their local block location for the Aseres Hadibros.
The 770 Gabboim have announced that 10 people will be allowed to Daven on Shavuos in 770 Eastern Parkway.
They clarified that a notice about seats available for a price was an early draft and was released prematurely. Seats will still be extremely limited, and will be distributed by raffle.
According the CDC restrictions currently in place, a place of worship is only allowed to have 10 people at a time. The Gabboim have been allowing residents the chance to daven as one of those 10 people, chosen each day by raffle.
if there is space for more people available, why don’t they get raffled off just like the first ten spaces??
יחי המלך😊😃😆
I think its time for elections for new gaboyim.
The court ruling that they are not in charge will, in time, obviate the whole thing anyways
The women’s section is open ? Hijackers are part of the ten . Why should we bother sending our wife
That’s a lot of money. Who is overseeing this? WHy not a goral?
Just wondering who is making sure the women’s section also abides by rules ? The place is governed by a few self appointed homeless . Will the Gabboim make sure ? It might be best to just keep the section closed for now .
Women section on Kingston will be open for 10 men for $560 cheap.
just shameless
it shouldn’t cost money to daven
where is this money going to?
this should be a raffle
This isn’t the Rebbe’s shul .the Bolsheviks are back in power
i wonder if the real owners and managers of the property – as recently ratified in court – will allow this development to continue. Often, in the last 60 years, novel and unusual things emanated from 770. So too now, seems like the first shul selling seats in this Covid time is 770. Seems to me to be an unusual time to charge money for something not previously costing, and an unusual thing to charge for – tefila b’tzibur, and an unusual place to be charging – 770. But, what do I know? I don’t own or operate a shul.… Read more »
This is stolen $ gaboim are squatters, 770 belongs to aguch!
This is insulting to the many who lost all income over night from the “pandemic”.
Shame one whoever dreamt up this idea!
Is the paying $280 for both or only women?
And this is an insane price im sorry
who gets the money?
no different than my shul selling aliyos on yomtov
there’s no fair way to do it without leaving someone out
it’s not fair I can’t afford maftir yonah, but there’s no other way to do it without offending
so the gaboyim are allowing 10 people by raffle in the shul, and selling the kingston shul seats.
i think it’s pure brilliance
brilliant idea
no fair way to decide who should be allowed in the shul
so they do a goiral on 10 places in the main shul, and sell the zchus to the kingston shul
no different than every shul selling aliyos on yomtov
the women section is being open for the men to daven in, women arent being allowed in 770
pathetic on many levels. 1st off the shul should have many more than 10 based on its size( walmart , target ) planes are seating full. how can they charge money for this???? also theres a big mistake in understanding this aguch thing that they own 770. they might have the ownership to the bldg, but not to run it, the Rebbe gave his directive on this
The best part of the article is the opening line “Police are requesting the public continue to daven”
