Dear parents and friends of our community,
It is with great excitement that we write to you today, to share with you some of the developments which have transpired in our school over the past few years, and what they mean for our students in the years to come.
We are reaching out to you as partners in order to create a stronger future for our school.
A little over two years ago, the Chairman of the Board of Beth Rivkah, Rabbi Avrohom Shemtov, took the initiative to refresh the board of Beth Rivkah. With the assistance of his son, Rabbi Eliezer Shemtov from Uruguay, who traveled here especially to put together and implement the transition of the new board, he invited a group of parents to join and share the zchus and holy responsibility that being on the Board of Directors of Beth Rivkah entails. One of the main priorities was – and continues to be – to help ensure that salaries of all 400 (!) employees of the school would be paid on time.
Each one of us joined because we believe very deeply in the mission and impact of our school. Over the past 75 years, our mothers, our sisters and our daughters have learned in Beth Rivkah. We continue to see how the education Beth Rivkah provides our daughters and sisters with the tools necessary to become fully empowered Jewish women.
One of the first steps we took was to create the Development Office, which is currently being led by Rabbi Moshe Pinson, director, assisted by Rabbi Yossi Baumgarten. It is thanks to this team that Beth Rivkah has decided to launch tomorrow’s Charidy campaign in order to raise $1.3M to further the momentum of the improvements to our school.
Boruch Hashem, the Development Office, since its inception, has been successful in generating funds which have helped provide timely pay of salaries and some of the first stage, critical renovations to our buildings in 2017. Together with the Development Office, the Board is constantly seeking new revenue streams to help alleviate the financial burden not covered by tuition, whether via public grants, foundations or individual gifts.
Being part of the new Beth Rivkah board has been a tremendously rewarding experience. We’ve all witnessed firsthand how these changes — both big and small — have already contributed to a more positive attitude within the school. Our team is committed to driving the following objectives forward: improved management, parent-administration communication, financial responsibility and accountability, organizing a dynamic PTA and activating our Alumni Association.
It’s important to remember that Beth Rivkah is not a private enterprise. The responsibility for Beth Rivkah does not belong exclusively to the Board of Directors, the teachers, the principals, or even to the students; it belongs to every single one of us within the greater Chabad Community. Beth Rivkah was established by the Rebbeim, zi”a, as a revolutionary system of education for girls that would inspire young Jewish women through the highest standard of Jewish education, ahavas yisroel, Jewish pride, and the tools necessary to illuminate and transform the Jewish landscape worldwide. Beth Rivkah would provide a warm, accepting space that would welcome and educate all students regardless of background or financial situation. Since its very first day, the Rebbe, זי״ע, has lovingly guided every aspect of its development. Beth Rivkah alumni have played central roles in the Rebbe’s world vision and revolution.
Over 90% of our students receive tuition assistance in some form or another, causing the school to run an annual deficit of $2.5-$3M. The only way to bridge this gap is with the support of you—our community. The success of tomorrow’s campaign, in addition to providing us with the needed fuel to somewhat lighten the financial burden will be a necessary vote of confidence that will encourage us to continue working on your behalf.
One of our team members recently expressed himself as follows: “In every country, every State and in every small town, chabad houses are leading revolutions. Somehow, somewhere along the way, we sort of forgot about the school in our own neighborhood. That’s why I joined the board. To take a stand, to be involved, and to not neglect our own.”
We all have the achrayus to help build a brighter future for our community. To join us, please visit charidy.com/momentum.
With much gratitude to Hashem for the success we’ve seen until now and with great faith in the future,
The Board of Directors

As a Bais Rivkah staff member I have often heard from my colleagues that they personally received many Brochos from
The Rebbe regarding their working in Bais Rivkah
At times it was in response to a question regarding leaving their positions due the many responsibilities they carried
As wives mothers teachers and the Rebbe would bestow countless blessings upon them and gave encouragement to cointinue
May all the Brochos given to those who were and are involved with the Rebbe’s Mosad become a reality for all the individuals who give of their time and resources to Bais Rivkah

Um Dear Board, Can you please tell us who decided that the high school needed a serious refresh, and got the place painted for the first time probably since before I was in school in the 80’s? What about who made it their business to give an extra classroom to the high school by changing the place of the financial office? What about who made sure that the cork boards that were bought should be put up? These are three small things that I know you accomplished, when everyone said they could not be done. Dearest board, you are amazing!!!!… Read more »
A big Thank you to the board who go above and beyond to help Beth Rivkah.
It is time to show your appreciation. Please help your daughters’ school.
If you get a tuition break, it is time to show your hakoros hatov. Every amount – even $18 is a help. Remember your donation is quadrupled!
Would love to volunteer to answer phones if needed when the campaign starts. Whom should I contact?
