It’s 37 degrees outside as the kids bundle up and head out to school early on a blustery January morning. As soon as the house is quiet she sits down to fill out camp registrations hoping that the camps will process her childrens’ application forms with partial deposits and give her time to pull together the rest some time soon….hopefully….iy”h…..Followed by the expenses of Purim in March. Followed closely by the enormous expenses of Pesach in April. Followed by May which brings the next wave of camp fees. Followed by June which is camp shopping month. Followed by residual camp payments in July and August often on top of 12month school fees. Moving right along into the new school year expenses of uniforms and school supplies. Followed by the Tishrei yom tov season and the cycle cycles on…..
If it’s not your personal hardship, you will no doubt know at least one family who simply cannot keep up!
Here at the uniform Gemach we do what we can to create a little pause, we do what we can to help parents take a small breath as they look ahead toward the new school season that is followed by… that is followed by….and then by……
Although for the past 8 years we have been the face of the gemach, it simply would not be possible for us to remain open all year every year without the incredibly generous and thoughtful “in house” contributions we receive right here in Crown Heights. From the brand new to gently worn clothing items donated by caring families, to the pressing services provided by Mr.Teich of regency Cleaners, to the financial contributions towards hangers, racks and storage boxes, you are all the Gemach as much as we are. You are all a part of those financial and physical pauses and breaths that the Gemach graciously hands to so many families each year.
We ask you to please partner with us again this year by dropping off new of gently worn uniforms (1st grade and up only please) onto the porch of 379 crown st.
To schedule an appointment at the Gemach please call (718)493-1740 from August 1st. All messages will be returned.
Thanking you for your non stop caring and wishing you and your families a safe and happy summer

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Lustig and her family for all their efforts on behalf of our students
What s so impressive, in addition to the beautifully pressed and clean uniforms , is the way she relates to those who come
It is with dignity and respect, as well as sensitively maintaining confidentially. I have heard from numerous parents that their daughters were initially uncomfortable with the idea of going to a gmach after going once and seeing how Mrs Lustig relates to them now happily go every year

If any gemach wants long green skirts , please call Beth Rivkah i have plenty to give. If no one in CH wants them i will offer them to schools out of Ch, who will be happy to take them. thank you Elke
the mere fact that this is needed.
WHY cant uniforms be mor simple, so they can be purchased at discount –
the boys have uniform shirts that cost $8-$12 while the girls have monogramed shirts and sweathers!
you can donate to Zichron Moshe Laizer Uniform Gemach https://www.facebook.com/groups/ZMLUniformGemach/
