What a day of achdus and fun was had by all, as over 300 joined the Lag Bomer festivities in Waterbury, Connecticut. Headlined by Uncle Moishy who had the merit to sing by many of the parades in the Rebbe’s presence, along with clowns, a petting zoo, pony rides and inflatables.
Held on the grounds of Chabad Lubavitch of Northwest CT – Waterbury Branch, it has been growing by leaps and bounds since it started just 4 years ago for the Yeshiva community of Waterbury.
Rabbi YY Eisenbach, who together with his wife Mina are celebrating 23 years of directing Chabad in Northwest CT, addressed the audience, expounding on the essence of the special day of Lag Ba’Omer.
He explained how the holy Rashbi spent 13 years in the cave, learning the secrets of the Torah on the highest level possible. Yet, the Zohar states that upon his departure into society, he exclusively focused on how to help people, and the world at large.
“The lesson imparted to us, is to work daily on ensuring the world becomes a proper home for Hashem. By openly displaying our yiddishkeit proudly for all to see, and excelling in our Torah and Mitzvos, we bring Hashem into our midst and make His name known,” he said.
The sentiment felt by all was eloquently expressed by a parent who remarked, “It’s always inspiring to be with Chabad who add unity and ahavas Yisroel all year round and most importantly on Lag Bomer.”
