They had workshops, farbrengens and a banquet. Only, this was in France.
Covid travel restrictions held back the Chabad Shluchim in Paris from flying to New York to attend the International Kinus Hashluchim convention.
So they created a satellite one for themselves on Sunday afternoon, bringing together the Shluchim who run Chabad centers, shuls, schools and other institutions in the city.
It began with a series of lectures and sessions about halacha, chinuch, giving shiurim, group activism, and how to purchase property for Chabad activities.
By 4:30 PM, they joined a live broadcast of the Shluchim gathering at the Rebbe‘s Ohel in Queens, NY. They signed the ‘pan kloli’ in advance and then heard the Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch Vice Chairman Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky reading it out loud.
The program in Paris included davening and a panel discussion about the Rebbe’s instructions on raising children, working with university students, shalom bayis and memories of Kinus Hashluchim with the Rebbe.
It concluded with a banquet with speakers in French and Hebrew, which then connected with the gala banquet at the New Jersey Expo Center.
Needless to say, the Shluchim in Paris burst into a spontaneous dance.
