Students of Seminary Chaya Mushka – Machon Alte in Tzfas, Israel, recently learned 32 chapters of Tanya and their content. It was done in honor of the 19th of Kislev.
The students took 3 written tests on which the majority of girls got 90-100%, the staff reports. They later tested their knowledge in a Tanya Chidon.
The 11 girls with the highest marks were chosen to be on a panel, where they were tested by their teachers Rabbi Chanoch Rosenfeld, Rabbi Chaim Zilber, and Rabbi Shlomo Bar-Natan.
However, all the students participated, because Rabbi Bar-Natan periodically directed questions towards the audience, and each time the girls answered beautifully.
The girls on the panel took turns answering a series of questions ranging from simple content based questions to riddles, to “bekiot” questions that tested their acute knowledge on the placement of the concepts in Tanya or the relation between Hebrew phrases and their explanations.
It was very difficult to narrow down the contestants to one winner since all the girls knew the information, the staff said. “Because of all the hard work put in, and the breadth of knowledge gained, truly every girl was a winner,” they added.
