Homeowner Assistance Fund:
The Application window opens on January 3rd. The State expects to receive significantly more applications than can be funded by the program. Applications will be processed in the order they were received. Application submission does not guarantee you will receive financial assistance. You cannot submit an application now, but you can prepare all the documents ready to upload and you can collect all the information you will need to have when the application window opens.
All the instructions are available on the NY State website: https://www.nyhomeownerfund.org/application-guide
If you have any questions, you are invited to call the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council at 718-771-9000.
HEAP Regular Arears Supplement:
If you owe money past due on your gas or electric bill, New York City wants to help you pay it!
Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) funding is available to help eligible households pay past-due arrears for natural gas and/or electric utility accounts. Payments are made directly to an eligible household’s utility company.
Households may apply for HEAP Regular Arrears Supplement (RAS) benefits by completing the HEAP application form, available now at the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council.
Benefits are provided to eligible applicants on a first come first served basis through September 30, 2022 or until funds are no longer available. We strongly encourage you to apply as quickly as possible. Bring your completed form and documentation into the office and we will send it in to HEAP for you.
For additional information about HEAP, call Crown Heights Jewish Community Council at 718-771-9000.
