A bad turn for Shabbos preparations.
Residents of the Crown Heights neighborhood hurried outside about an hour before Shabbos to watch how a driver lost control of his car, crashing into parked vehicles nearby.
The driver, a Jewish male, was heading down Union Street when a tire of his car broke off, causing the car to swivel and knock into 4 parked cars in the narrow street.
Sitting in one of the cars, a mid-size sedan, was another Jewish man who was injured and rushed to the Kings County Hospital with minor injuries.
Hatzalah medical services also took the driver to the hospital.
One of the two may be released before Shabbos.
unfortunately, the wheel did not come off, but the entire axle came out of the joint. As quoted from an NYPD ESU officer who went UNDER the pickup to look at it, “I have seen them crack or bend, but I have NEVER seen it just come out like this.”
most time you will know if a wheel is loose i think any way it was a freak thing that just happened.
Witch one is still in the hospital the one in the sadan car i hope is will get a refura shelema.
this is not the only time that this has happened.i still remember the incident with wilansky from over 3 years ago when a tire flew off the car as they were returning from their grandsons bar mitzvah in either maine or new hampshire the husband is in a come & the wife passed away half a year later on chanukeh. i still remember that incident from over 3 years ago. now i don,t know if there is such a thing & if there is such a thing i have no idea who does it or how much the cost is… Read more »
thieves probably loosened the wheels but didn’t have a chance to steel them. this caused it to break off.
