The tempo at the inaugural girl’s session of Camp Gan Israel Toronto continued to rise and climb right to the end and celebrated accordingly at the traditional banquet.
The dining hall was decked out for a gala and began with a sumptuous feast prepared by Manis Okounev, the camp chef, (lest not the campers come home famished!).
Camper Esti Heber who was recognized and singled out for her exemplary Midos, spoke about her wonderful camp experience. She thanked the entire staff for helping her enhance and grow in Chassidishkeit.
Mussia Gniwich from Montreal was crowned “Miss Gan Izzy.”
“Mussia exemplified everything it means to be a Chassidishe, kind, lebedike, and enthusiastic camper,” said Goldy Grossbaum, camp director.
The girls who worked hard and put in effort while earning Tzivos Hashem points, were all recognized and rewarded with gifts that included photo albums with exclusive Rebbe pictures, digital camera, Mp3 players, Seforim, and more.
Towards the end of the evening each and every camper was called upon to receive an award for their area of excellence (at camp everyone excels at some worthy skill!).
So too, gifts of appreciation was presented to the entire staff. Of special merit and acknowledgement was the total dedication of the head staff, Rochel Sandhause, Muki Shemtov, and Esty Weinberg who worked endless days (and nights) and spared no effort to spearhead an exciting program day after day.
“It was a truly gratifying to watch the girls grow and flourish during their stay in our camp,” said Itchy Grossbaum, who together with his wife Goldy worked tirelessly to ensure an outstanding program.
