A one year-old toddler, Menucha Rachel Vaspi, passed away tragically in the backyard of her home in the city of Yesod Hama’ala in northern Israel on Sunday.
The girl, daughter of Einav and Anat Vaspi, members of the Chabad community there, drowned in a rubber boat that stood abandoned in the garden and was filled with rain.
Israel’s medical service rushed to the scene and tried to perform CPR but were left to announced her tragic death. “She slipped into the boat,” explained the paramedic Eli Peretz.
Rabbi Yaakov Raices, Director of Chabad in Yesod Hama’alan told COLlive: “This horrific tragedy is so hard to bear. This dear family has gone through so much pain. The parents are wonderful. The whole community is shocked.”
