Excitement and anticipation has been building among Chassidim across the globe as preparations for the 30th Anniversary of the great victory of Didan Notzach on the 5th of Teves in 5747, are well underway.
Although in recent years there has been a growing enthusiasm among Anash and Shluchim to spend this important day at the Ohel, a record number of visitors are expected this year in honor of the milestone celebration. There will be a special, live 90-minute Farbrengen broadcast directly from the Shul near the Ohel featuring Rabbi Avrohom Shemtov, Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky and others, followed by an all-night Farbrengen for those who have travelled from near and far.
“The Rebbe thanked those men and women who came to celebrate the nitzachon together with him on that very first Hei Teves,” said Rabbi Yoseph Chaim Kantor, who has plans to join the festivities and celebrations at the Ohel, G-d willing.
Throughout the world, very specific initiatives have been launched in order to fulfill the Rebbe’s directives that the victory of the Seforim have an impact through tangible expression in the lives of Chassidim and in the work of spreading Chassidus. Dozens of communities have organized Farbrengens; numerous schools have incorporated a newly published Hei Teves Curriculum; Seforim outlets are announcing their special Hei Teves discounts; a new webpage dedicated to studying the Rebbe’s words about this central episode of Dor Hash’vi’i has been created at www.shluchimcommittee.com/HeiTeves; and a Central Farbrengen of Agudas Chassidei Chabad will take place on Tuesday night, Hei Teves at 9:00 PM.
“It is inspiring to see the innate desire of so many Chassidim – of all ages – to connect with the Rebbe’s passionate declaration invoked in the months leading up to the court case – “The Rebbe Lives!’ – and their eagerness to carry the Rebbe’s message to the world”, said Rabbi Nochum Goldshmidt of Netanya, Israel. “Shluchim and Anash around the country are looking forward to a celebration this year on Hei Teves of unprecedented proportions.”
