Democratic mayoral candidate Bill Thompson is further reaching out to Crown Heights Jews with another visit tonight (Thursday) at 9pm.
As he is trying to minimize the wide gap in the polls, Thompson will be attending a reception in his honor in the Brooklyn neighborhood.
It’s being hosted by Yossi Stern, a construction dealer and head of the local Shmira-COP patrol, at his home, 1486 Union Street (bet. Kingston and Albany).
Sushi and catered food will be prepared.
“Come and hear what Mr. Thompson has to offer our community. You will also be able to ask him questions of issues that are of importance to you and your family,” the email invitation read.
Suggested contribution: $25.00 (check or cash)
Can this really cover his expenses and long-shot bid to be mayor?
Isn’t Bill Thompson the guy running against commissioners Raymond Kellys Boss, Mayor Bloomberg?
Was it not Commissioner Raymond Kelly together with the fat and short cop Inspector Peter Simmonetti who created the Shmira-COP patrol?
Do we really need these crazy dudes to kill our town
the $25 is pro bally to cover the cost of the food.
I think that it’s so cool that this guy is the underdog, he’s standing up for what he believes is going to be a difference for NYC. His opponent is a multi-billionare, and the best part is, our 25 dollars will directly benefit his small-budget campaign.
Half of the other contenders dropped out of the race or didn’t even bother going up against bloomy cause of the lack of money…..hey, i’ll give him 25 bucks.
Thank God he’s got no realistic chance. Ironic that CHers suddenly want change for the sake of change, and are willing to vote Democratic for it.
