To add in acts of goodness and kindness.

Pirkei Avos says that “The essential thing is not study, but deed.” Now how many people do you know who live by this slogan? One of the rare few is a person from Crown Heights I have come to know.
We moved from Israel before the 5774 High Holidays. Imagine – just moved to another country, not settled, no job, kids, home etc. And yomtov is coming soon. What does a Yid need before Rosh Hashanah? a happy and sweet New Year. We pray, we ask, we wish. But we are not Malachim. We also need our Holiday tish. We want to look nice and feel good.
And, like in the beloved Baal Shem Tov stories, Hashem sent us a Malach.
Do you need new shoes for your children and yourself? Do you need meat and fish? Do you need vegetables? You’ll have it all! This angel doesn’t sleep at night and doesn’t rest during the day. All her personal time she spends by helping people those in need, carrying more than for herself.
Her name is Mrs. Devora Scheiner, or as I have come to remember her in my davening – Devora Sara Rivka bas Miryam. I pronounced it so many times with my children and blessed her with all she needs. She is one of those who really does what the Rebbe told us to do and repeated to us again and again and explained to us. That this is what will bring the Moshiach. When you care about someone else more than you care about yourself.
How many times she would call me and ask me how do we live or if we have anything that we need. She would do my weekly grocery shopping. And when she saw that winter is coming and I don’t have warm coat she went and bought for me the best one in the store!
I wish to all of us to give our best to fellow. And then we will see the real goodness and kindness. We’ll see the Moshiach!
The better way to give Tzedoko is when the receiver doesn’t know who the giver is. So when you want to help peoples with the story like mine or similar, just call Dvora Scheiner. And she’ll take care of the rest.

As a close friend of your lovely daughters, i have seen firsthand for many years what a unique, generous, loving woman you are. My father really appreciates all the programs you organize for the elderly. The crown heights community is so blessed to have such a caring eishet chayil address the needs of so many families and enable them to celebrate shabbos and yom tov with even greater joy.
