Dr. Ira Weiss, Senior Attending Cardiologist at Evanston Hospital in Evanston, IL, merited an extremely close and unique relationship with the Rebbe.
One of the chosen few that the Rebbe confided in regarding his medical care, Dr. Weiss was instrumental in the Rebbe’s recovery following the alarming events of Shemini Atzeret, 1977.
In this talk given at the National Jewish Retreat, Dr. Weiss provides details and anecdotes of what was really going on, upstairs in 770.

In so many ways we are blessed to have Dr. Weiss, who also served as the Rebbitzen’s doctor until her final moment. He is such an eidel, unassuming, brilliant doctor and chossid of the Rebbe and Rebbitzen. Although I have heard him speak every year, I still love to hear him again and again. I am glad the rest of the world now has this opportunity.

Thank you for the beautiful talk , I grew up in CH was there when it happened , never knew the details as described , maybe better that way , we have to give back to the Rebbe now for all the dedication and caring the Rebbe had for klal Yisroel his love and concern for every yid. We must emulate this love in today’s world make this place into a peaceful caring world for all of Hashems creations
