Here’s a sense of electricity filling the air at 50 Chabad schools around the world. Posters line the hallways, counting down the days until Yud Alef Nissan, and an army-wide stats report reminds chayolim how close they are to accomplishing their goal. Tzivos Hashem have set a goal to give the Rebbe a present of 224,000 lines of both Tanya and Mishnayos Baal Peh. And they are almost got there, but now they need your help!<
It all started six years ago, when Tzivos Hashem Headquarters began a campaign to give the Rebbe a birthday gift from his soldiers. The goal was to learn 11,000 lines of Tanya Baal Peh in honor of Yud Alef Nissan. Chayolim around the world signed up to review past lines and learn as many new ones as they could. They got close, but missed their target with 9,025 lines.
The next year Tzivos Hashem Headquarters went all out to make sure the goal would be reached. And with over 13,000 lines learned, they were, boruch Hashem, successful!Last year the goal was increased once again: 111,000 lines in honor of the Rebbe’s 111th birthday. They not only reached their goal, they exceeded it: with a grand total of 125,367 lines of Mishnayos and 134,182 lines of Tanya memorized.
This year they are once again pushing boundaries with a record-breaking goal of 224,000 Lines of Mishnayos and Tanya in honor of the Rebbe’s 112th birthday.
STRONG>Mushkie Rosenblum, program coordinator, says, “We have reached out to Chabad schools across the world asking each of them to encourage their students to step up to the plate and do all they can to reach this tremendous milestone. Boruch the response has been amazing.” Over 800 Yaldei Hashluchim are also participating, through MyShliach.
Today they are up to 216,832, lines of Mishnayos 211,114 and lines of Tanya, the result of a collective effort on behalf of over 50 schools. “We’re connected with new Tzivos Hashem bases in France, Argentina, Brazil, and Eretz Yisroel … all have joined the global effort,” says Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum, director of Chayolei Tzivos Hashem.
Even though they are so close to reaching their goal, Weinbaum reminds readers, “In the army, ‘almost’ doesn’t count. We have a mission to complete—and nothing is going to stop us!”
With over 6,000 children learning, and only 7,168 lines of Tanya and 12,886 lines of Mishnayos left to be learned (less than 2 lines of Tanya and 3 lines of Mishanyos per chayol) we turn to you. Parents and teachers, please encourage your children to memorize those extra few lines that will make all the difference in our reaching this amazing milestone for Yud Alef Nissan 5774. Schools and Parents in MyShliach please enter the total amount of lines you have learned on your homepage. All other who wish to participate please email [email protected]
The grand total will be announced at the Rebbes birthday rally that will be streamed live on collive.com on Thursday Yud Nissan at 10:30am EST.
