This week’s Living Torah from JEM is themed around the crime and its challenges within communities.
From the amazing Sicha in which the Rebbe addresses crime prevention to the Eye To Eye about fostering good relations with the African American community, it’s a program not to be missed.
In the My Encounter clip, we are treated to a meeting between the Rebbe and NYC Council President Francis X. Smith. At the time of this meeting, NYC was facing a surge in crime and vandalism.
The clip is interspersed with points from Jacob Worenklein, who was an intern at the council at the time and arranged this meeting.
this yechidus is chopped up and has very little context to it… we need to hear the entire Yechidus and also learn about the situation… i.e. the Rebbe was in general against long prison sentencing… here it seems he is for it.. but with context, I imagine that it is much nuanced than that…
in short, very poor research… 🙁
thank you for share this to us
