On Chof Ches Sivan 5701/1941, the Rebbe and Rebbetzin arrived in the United States of America, thereby escaping war-torn Europe.
Days later, on Shabbos Parshas Korach (3 Tammuz), the Frierdiker Rebbe farbrenged with the Rebbe in his presence. During the Farbrengen, the Friediker Rebbe asked if any of the participants knew Reb Michel Zlotchiver’s Niggun. Led by the Rebbe, the crowd began to sing.
50 years later to the day, the Rebbe stood for hours distributing thousands of copies of Kuntres Chof Ches Sivan, a collection of Maamarim, Sichos, and a recount of the Rebbe’s first Farbrengan in America.
Throughout the distribution, Chassidim broke out in song, intoning the exact song that was sung 50 years prior, the Niggun of Reb Michel Zlotchiver.
This Shabbos, we mark Chof Ches Sivan. Enjoy the Niggun of Reb Michel Zlotchiver, beautifully sung by Aryeh Leib Hurwitz at the 25 years – Gimmel Tammuz Event.
Thank you COL for including this. The message, the chazan stirs the soul.
Very nice!
THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS SPECIAL NIGGUN. MY FATHER WOULD SIT NEAR MY CRIB AND SING IT TO ME. HE WOULD SING ME TO SLEEP WITH THIS NIGGUN EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT AND MOTZAEI SHABBOS.
THANK YOU!
