Israel’s Counter Terrorism Bureau issued Thursday a warning to Israelis to avoid public areas in India for fear of a terror attack.
The agency said the alert was “very concrete.”
It added that Lashkar-e-Taiba, the Pakistan-based terrorist group responsible for the 2008 Mumbai attacks, is preparing more attacks.
They are aiming also at locations with high western and Israeli concentration, possibly also Chabad Houses, the Israeli media reported.
Many Jews and Israelis are expected to spend Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur at Chabad Houses in the Far East.
Jewish centers have been a constant terror target, and some have been developing their own security methods in coping with a possible threat.
6 Israeli and Jewish occupants of the Chabad House in Mumbai, including Rabbi Gavriel and Rivka Holtzberg, were killed in an attack that began November 26, 2008.
