While Jews around the world have been focused on the news coming out of Eretz Yisroel, young men at Aliya in Crown Heights got busy.
The teens started a social media campaign called #Tefillinforisrael, started by Moishe Loekinsky. The goal was to get at least 1000 men to wrap Tefillin for Israel, and while wrapping Tefillin take a selfie and post it on the “1000 Tefillin for Israel” for Facebook page.
The facebook page instantly started getting likes and many people uploaded photos of young men putting on their Teffilin that day.
They also made teffillin for Israel cards and started handing them out with instructions on how to join the mission. To further expedite the goal of 1000 teffillins for Israel on Thursday afternoon they also started a Tefillin booth on Kingston Avenue which attracted a lot of attention and even more tefillin wrappings for Israel.
