Tzivos Hashem is running a worldwide competition for Jewish children to mark 30 years since the youth movement was established by the Lubavitcher Rebbe.
“The Power of Jewish Children” will feature entries from children from around the world, who will compete for prizes totaling $30,000 cash and a trip to New York.
COLlive is showcasing some of the entries:
Name: Yisrolik Wilhelm
School: Oholei Torah
Theme of my submission:
I memorized 12 perokim of Tanya baal peh and the Hakdama.
I learned perek aleph when I was 6. A few years later I continued with perek beis and slowly did more perokim. Some of them I did in honor of special chassidishe yomim tovim. When I got to ches, I decided to try to do through yud beis before my bar mitzvah (as the Frierdiker Rebbe said kids should do). I managed to finish all 12 perokim “bevas achas” (in one shot) around my 12th birthday. Over the summer I also did the Hakdama.
