In advance of Yud Tes Kislev, this past Motzei Shabbos the 5693rd edition of the Tanya was printed in Folsom, CA.
To mark the memorable occasion, members of the local community participated in a special Melave Malka. The program included an overview of the Alter Rebbe’s life and a brief introduction to Tanya presented by the shliach in Folsom Rabbi Yossi Grossbaum. Rabbi Mendy Cohen of Chabad of Sacramento was also in attendance.
Mr. Russ Landers, a dear friend and supporter of Chabad of Folsom started the printing and the first portion of perek lamed beis was studied together from the newly printed pages. The evening ended with a commitment by the attendees to begin a regular class to study Tanya together.
The new Tanya was dedicated in memory of Rabbi Grossbaum’s cousin, Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Deitsch, the Tysons, Virginia Shliach who passed away this month.
A bound edition of this Tanya is available for a donation of $100 to Chabad of Folsom. Visit www.jewishfolsom.org/donate to make a donation online.
