Members of the Sydney Jewish community joined together in one place to complete the entire Mishna.
Over 250 people joined together to learn 4192 mishnayos over 3 hours united as one community.
Reuben Klein, a Sydney resident who organized the event, said, “people doubted that Sydney could pull this off, but, we did it!”
Over the past month, people were asked to register the mishnayos that they would learn on this auspicious day. On the day of the event, despite drenching rain, people from every Shul in Sydney were in attendance at the momentous occasion.
Reuben Klein thanked all the sponsors of the event as well as the women and mothers that continue to support their husbands and children in their learning.
Rabbi Feldman had the honor of completing the Mishnayos, and mentioned prior to completing the Siyum, that blessings that will be bestowed upon the event organizers and the people that participated in this historic event as well.
L’Chaim and Maariv concluded the event.
It was discussed that this event should take place every year before Shavuos. Next year May 28th has been locked in, in the hopes that other cities around the world will join in taking this upon themselves as well.
A big thank you goes to the event organizer, Rabbi Reuven Klein and supported by Benny Amzalak, Sreuvi Lazarus and Shmaryahu Bowdre. Thank you to Central Synagogue for hosting the event and Zev Aronstam for his catering of the event.
Kol Hakavod.
What a great idea.
May you all continue to receive blessings.
