World renowned scholar, Rabbi Adin Even Yisrael – Steinsaltz was lightly injured in a car accident last week Wednesday, Rosh Chodesh Av.
He was taken to hospital after the driver of the car he was in accidentally crashed into the entrance gate of the city of Tekoa, near Jerusalem, where the Hesder Yeshiva of Rabbi Steinsaltz is located.
Rabbi Steinsaltz was only lightly wounded, thank G-d, and he is gradually recovering.
For tehillim, his full name is “Harav Adin ben Avraham Moshe.”
Despite the accident, Rabbi Steinsaltz has not slowed his schedule at all. He continues to fill every minute of his days and nights, dealing with immense endeavors for Klal Yisrael such as his translation of the Talmud, counseling countless people, writing books (currently a book on the Lubavitcher Rebbe as well), giving Shiurim and lectures, heading tens of institutions in Israel and worldwide, and much more.
On Friday, the 3rd of Av, in honor of his 72nd birthday, he gathered some of his close students for a meeting, which launched into an impromptu midday Farbrengen.
In honor of his birthday Rabbi Steinsaltz held a Siyum on the entire Shas, as is his custom every year on his birthday, since his late-teen years.
Where does that part of the name come from?
What’s the name of his mother?
Rabbi Steinsaltz is one of the few leaders we have left, that have managed to inspire so many people worldwide with incredible humilty. A real role model, who’s tocho kevaro, does so, so much and still manages to finish the shas every year!
May Hashem bless him with a speedy recovery!
the entire shas every year! we can all learn from him!!
