Chabad Israel Center of Staten Island inaugurated its new location on Brunswick Street on Sunday with locals in attendance.
The center, directed by Rabbi Nachman and Chaya Segal, will house the synagogue, regular classes, women’s group, holiday awareness programs and more.
Yitzchak Zubeli, the building’s main donor, was honored with afixing the Mezuzas on the front entrance.
Staten Island’s Head Shliach Rabbi Moshe Katzman greeted the crowd and, as a Cohen, offered a priestly blessing.
Rabbi Azriel Chaikin of Crown Heights and Rabbi Sholom Ber Chaikin of Cleveland spoke as well.
A short video showed the community-wide activities Rabbi Segal and his wife offer year-round. They went on to hand awards to key supporters.
