It doesnt make a difference. They wash it all together in a dish washer.
Source: Friends of mine that are baristas in Starbucks

Now there are certain things that they hand wash. Like when you get a ice coffee, that big dispenser they take it from is hand washed. So too a pike hot coffee they wash the dispenser by just running hot water through it.

In other words, if your very strict about this stuff, you shouldnt go now and you shouldnt have gone before

It’s not going to stop people from going, and better to be shoigeg than maizid

This is insane! Who in their right mind would trust them without onsite hashgocha anyway! This is boych svoros!

Who are you fooling? A shogeg is when you don’t and couldn’t have known, not when you close your eyes and ears to facts. I’m NOT pointing fingers or saying anything is or isn’t allowed, I’m just saying you shouldn’t convince yourself something asur is mutar or a “shoigeg”.

I don’t understand how they can mix it solely for this reason alone. People with severe dairy allergies can no longer drink those items either!

That doesn’t apply here! because blinding yourself doest count. In the first place you shouldn’t go in. It’s a place that sells all different stuff plus trief. it’s only because you claim to be a maven that you go in to get a coffee etc…so know your facts! Besides know your facts before you quote the Torah unless you have a different agenda! You can ask before stating.

People who care a little will stop going.
People who don’t care will continue to do whatever they want anyway, like with the make-believe eruv.
But why shouldn’t people who care know the truth?

That is not the torah way. Especially when we are dealing with the general public, we are supposed to share information that will help people follow halacha. There are many people that will be more carefull because of this

Since when do we eat in a place that has treeif or cholov akum? I never understood this phenomenon.

Best to buy from a kosher establishment with a higher standard

Beware!

Beware!

Not only do they wash parts of the coffee machine in a hot dishwasher, but Starbucks may also share a dishwasher with an adjacent restaurant, as in Target stores.
CRC had an article about this.

actually the thing about the eruv is to have a secret kosher one that we wouldn’t use in order to keep non-religious Jews, who would carry anyway, from sinning. Unfortunately, frum jews didn’t get the memo…

Plenty of all types of Chasidim and Litvitch go to DD McCafe Starbucks. After travelling many hours on the road and in of a buzz. Feeling guilty and then crashing; which is a bigger sin?

your argument is a straw man. nobody said it’s better to crash. if you’re too tired to drive it’s better to pull of the road and take a nap, that way you don’t crash a you don’t eat or drink something that’s not kosher.

you can’t just let yourself eat nonkosher because of some absurd rationalization that if you dont drink the cholov akum you’re going to crash your car. just go take a nap.

The fact that the כלים are washed in the same dishwasher, isn’t an issue according to many opinions, as the hot water and soap is נותן טעם לפגם.
I’m not a posek – and based on what you wrote you don’t seem like one either – so my recommendation is to read the article that CRC has on this subject.

Dairy Equipment

FYI Dairy Equipment that was used for non Cholov Yisroel is definitely a problem. It is not some kind of Chumra above a Chumra. It’s the same thing as using non Cholov Yisroel.

This only applies if the equipment was used with hot cholov akum. Cold is not a problem for keilim according to some of the rabbonei anash. This is the reason why washing the keilim is such an issue, since it is with hot water and there is cholov akum (and poshut chazer as well). I also not a posek, but I think a poshute yid with a decent moral compass can figure this one out even without all the geoinus. Do the right thing folks, it’s not worth it for a coffee that you can literally buy the same one… Read more »
