The Friendship Circle of Passaic County held its annual Winter Camp this year at Yeshivas Beis Hillel of Passaic during the last week of December.
Cut short from from its original four days due to the blizzard that hit the Tri-State area, the camp still boasted nearly 15 children with special needs and 35 volunteers.
The Winter Camp featured 2 afternoons of love and laughter for children from Clifton and Passaic, NJ who would otherwise be home during their long winter vacation.
However, the children weren’t the only ones who looked forward to Winter Camp.
As it is has become a yearly tradition, the 8th grade classes at YBH look forward to the afternoon they get to don the Friendship Circle t-shirt during school hours and give the children attending camp the time of their lives! The majority of students currently volunteer for Friends @ Home and the excitement of seeing their special friends and pride in calling them “theirs” only ensured the huge success of Friendship Circle Winter Camp 2010.
Way to go Rabbi and Mrs. Gurkov for all the work you do for Chabad. Keep on going and growing. It seems like you have the best staff for the job, all Shluchim should be so lucky.
