The Jewish Children’s Museum is offering reduced admission for local Crown Heights children to spend the day on Thursday.
Girls schools in Crown Heights had been closed in anticipation of the storm, while boys schools were open until 1 pm.
Special snow day admission will be $7 per person.
Children must be accompanied at all times by an adult age 16+.
the answer to your question is because a parent or older sibling who takes the kids to the museum and back is doing so at their own achrayus. schools, on the other hand, cannot and should not be expected to, shoulder the responsibility of getting the kids to and from school safely in such weather. furthermore, even if the parents were to make the effort to get their kids to school, chances are very few of them would be available to get over to school in late afternoon to pick them up. btw, it’s a royal pain for teachers to… Read more »

May I ask why kids can get to the museum in the snow, but not to school, which is, often, a few blocks away from the museum???
