Today marks the 60th anniversary of Rabbi Mordechai and Chana Sharfstein.
Lubavitch Archives recently discovered colored slides of the wedding and COLlive presents the entire set in honor of the couple’s anniversary.
The wedding was in Boston, MA, and was attended by many of the Chosson’s friends. Included in them are Rabbi Yisroel Gordon, Rabbi Tzvi Lerman, Rabbi Moshe Levertov and Rabbi Hershel Fogelman.
Can you identify any of the others in the photos?

rabbi joseph shubow without hat and with big yarmulka
I was only 6 weeks old when my aunt got married, so they left me at home. I never emotionally recovered from that. In photo #3, there is a man without a hat on the left side. his name is Berel Chafetz, he should be well. There is a famous picture of the Chofetz Chaim sitting on a chair outside of a house talking to a man who has his back to the camera. To the left of that man is a young boy about 8 to 10 years old wearing a cap. That is the same Berel Chafetz. In… Read more »

As a neice of the Kallah, I was a flower girl together with my cousin Hennie (Zuber) Fialkoff, Seema (Edelman) Goldstein and Cyrel (Edelman) Deitsch. My brother Rabbi Shia Zuber was the ring bearer.

Amazing – thank you for sharing.
Not trying to start a COL comment fight, but the reality is, aside from the dancing, the men and woman are separate. The good old days when everything wasn’t se—-lized. People were people and people could be frum and mentchlach without matters being complicated.
to #26 that is R. Mottel Sharfstein.
Thanks.
It looks like Shimon Goldman the butcher with flower in pocket
That’s a Groner dancing…………….
As a great niece to the Sharfsteins, I had fun looking for relatives. I found my grandfather, Schalom Zuber A”H and his brother Mendle Zuber A”H- brothers of the kallah. I also found their father’s brother Rabbi Nosson Nota Zuber A”H. And of course I recognized Uncle Mottle.
This is Chana and Mottel Sharfsteins wedding-they should live and be well till 120!!

Yes, I know several faces in these pictures. They include my grandfather, Reb Scholom Dovber Zuber o”h, his elder brother Rabbi Menchaem Mendel Zuber o”h, and yb”lch – my great uncle (their brother-in-law) Rabbi Mottel Scharfstein. I also see someone who might be my GREAT-great uncle, Rabbi Nosson Notta Zuber. Originally from Russia, the patriarch of the family – Rabbi Yaakov Yisroel Zuber was sent to Stockholm Sweden. He subsequently relocated to the Boston, MA until his untimely petirah. My grandfather remained in Boston, Uncle Mendel was in Monsey, Uncle Mottel in Crown Heights, and the fourth brother-in-law – Rabbi… Read more »
