THEY LEFT ME AT HOME
August 28, 2014 10:39 am

I was only 6 weeks old when my aunt got married, so they left me at home. I never emotionally recovered from that. In photo #3, there is a man without a hat on the left side. his name is Berel Chafetz, he should be well. There is a famous picture of the Chofetz Chaim sitting on a chair outside of a house talking to a man who has his back to the camera. Amazing – thank you for sharing.

Not trying to start a COL comment fight, but the reality is, aside from the dancing, the men and woman are separate. The good old days when everything wasn’t se—-lized. People were people and people could be frum and mentchlach without matters being complicated.

Yes, I know several faces in these pictures. They include my grandfather, Reb Scholom Dovber Zuber o”h, his elder brother Rabbi Menchaem Mendel Zuber o”h, and yb”lch – my great uncle (their brother-in-law) Rabbi Mottel Scharfstein. I also see someone who might be my GREAT-great uncle, Rabbi Nosson Notta Zuber. Originally from Russia, the patriarch of the family – Rabbi Yaakov Yisroel Zuber was sent to Stockholm Sweden. He subsequently relocated to the Boston, MA until his untimely petirah. My grandfather remained in Boston, Uncle Mendel was in Monsey, Uncle Mottel in Crown Heights, and the fourth brother-in-law – Rabbi… Read more »
