Serious talent! A real gift! The ideas are there, but take advice from the pros, you still need tuning … a lot of techno going on whne not required…u can capture ur audience without it! when one thinks he is overdressed he should stand in front with his back to a mirror and turn around, the first thing he notices when looking into the mirror is too much, remove it! Try and do that with ur music, its almost perfect but u have something too much….and only a mirror(someone that understands music like a u) can tell u whats too… Read more »

Boruch Sholom's message
June 11, 2010 10:49 am

Boruch Sholom’s message in this song is not all about sadness. From what I got, it’s about taking the time to feel sad because there is a time for pain just as there is a time for Simcha. In life, we should def walk around more happy than sad (Hashem should give us many reasons to) but sadness is OK, too. BSs point I think is that so many times, when a tragedy occurs ch’v, everyone is so quick to react “It’s gonna be alright, things will be better, let’s be besimcha…..” etc. He’s not minimizing the importance of that,… Read more »

We love the song, it is beautiful! There is a lot of talent!

But…
what is the toeles of focusing on casualties?
is it m’orer teshuva?
lets take this talent, and channel it to simcha and feelings to add in torah and mitzvos..this would be the best!!

June 10, 2010 8:15 pm

I have written some song lyrics myself, and this is a beautiful piece. The robotic voice also makes creative sense for those times when we find ourselves unable to smile. Here’s some free editing that I hope you can still incorporate: I’m pretty sure you meant “mother’s arms” and “say a prayer.”

I don’t thing bsb is “using a serious subject it to become famous” …no way I know him very good…… However, when a person has a hard time R”L he should say Tehilim , daven, goe to the Ohel, etc. but not publicizing his pain, certainly not on COL to the entire world, and of for sure not making a song out of it …bc then its like you say it “cheapens the pain” ….In the future I would advice him to sing JEWISH, FREILECHEH songs, with HIS OWN VOICE…. he will a bigger hit, with 1000 comments,
His relative.

I WANT THIS SONG!!

is powerful, talented, musical, daring, exciting, charming, charismatic and just plain adorable! thanks for this amazing piece. BTW for those of you who know bsb, he’s one of the happiest, chilled people around. So if he’s sending this message that it’s ok to feel sad at times, look at him. He is a very balanced, happy kinda fella. Seems like he’s emotionally healthy to me. So this message isn’t coming from a sad person (for those of you who tell him that he should focus on happiness) he’s a tuned-in-to-others, sensitive kinda person (for those who claim that he’s smiling… Read more »

Come on get over it!!
it’s nice but it sounds this or it sounds that ……..
Why don’t you just be happy for him that he’s making his own path to success and he’s making people listen to more jewish music instead of real goyeshe music .
As we learn in chassidus the compositer’s kavono is conveyed to the one who is listening to it
and for sure his message is truly pure.
Try to be a little bit softer in your comments ,
a new singer needs encouragement.

June 9, 2010 8:44 am

To Boruch Shalom,

I am from an older generation, probably not your target audience. Your song is very touching and powerful. There are times where we cant smile, and we need to be able to say: Right now, I’m hurting, I can’t smile.

Saying it is ok

The trick is though, not to stay in that state for too long, otherwise you may be pulled down.

Go mchayil el chayil!

June 8, 2010 11:47 am

What i do know is that some songs are here to reflect the pain of those whose losses are iccomprehensible. Sometimes they also want others to understand and therefore, to be cheerful and positive is NOT always normal or appropriate. That is what many here do not get.Human beings do not have + attitudes when they are suffering.I honestly do not think the Rebbe was talking about such situations and only the very concrete and unthinking make such assumptions. Songs also reflect life and when someone loses a child, there is no + attitude. For those who think there is,… Read more »

Your Song VS the Rebbe's Teaching
June 8, 2010 11:40 am

Your song is touching … it may touch man ….. but as a Chossid your song does not go according to the Rebbe’s teachings.

The Rebbe cries bitterly over the pain of Golus…. but the Rebbe says the only solution we must do now ….is to be JOYOUS (it’s at the 8:40 in the Sicha):

I think it was pretty good compared to whats out there in the Jewish world. Although i’m not crazy about the vocals, I think it was a pretty good video, and a nice performance. I think the video could have had more drama in it, you could do so much with a music video, and NY has such cool places to shoot, i think it was artistic but seeing the bit of artisstry in it you can do so much better. The voice is ok, but it was a good song and sung pretty well. I think you have a… Read more »

hmmm
June 8, 2010 3:59 am

way too much electronic too feel what the singer is really feeling.

Mavin
June 8, 2010 3:40 am

The auto-tune in this song has the same effect as adding ketchup to ice cream.

Auto tone

He will go far, possesing a talent in which he truly connects with his audiences, in happiness, in pain and inspiration. May you have the zechus that your music should be used as tool to inspire people and affect change for the good!

Sholom Lieberman did the music for this song and he is phenomenal. The unique and professional style is unmatched by anyone else around. Based on what I hear from this song, if I wanted to record something, I would go straight to him!
Thank you very much for this Boruch Sholom and Sholom.

June 8, 2010 1:27 am

i dont know what systems u are using but i got a headache from all the nerve irritating sounds. please sing for real!

nice lyrics tough .

Sorry...
June 8, 2010 1:27 am

Great lyrics, nice tune. A lot of the harmony is just awfully incorrect. The first stanza also has a bit of flaws.
The auto-tune is too much. It doesn’t work to have heavy harmony and heavy auto-tune.
Try running it through someone who actually studied music and holds a degree in it. It will help a lot.

so proud
June 8, 2010 1:17 am

Excellent job! Well done…can’t wait to hear your fun and fast songs….

a true maven
June 8, 2010 12:11 am

I am a true maven in Jewish music, and I can tell you first hand that this is something unique in the JEwish world. You have Lipa, you have 8th day, but this is something new, a new sound. I never heard such talent that could sing in a way that sounds like an electronic instrument. I bet even in the goyishe world they cannot sing like that!

nice job
June 8, 2010 12:10 am

love the song!

BSB I loved you better last time
June 8, 2010 12:07 am

You were so happy… dancing and jumping… making “shtik” and being very funny… If you want to make it (and you definitely will) in the music world you must be happy…also we all want to hear you… not some illustrated voice… Y.Y.H.

June 7, 2010 11:24 pm

I would totally buy a CD if you made one. You totally should! just for some advice..I would recommend that you add more lyrics and to bring different harmonies rather then a whole bunch of voices over each other….but great job! You are a brave guy!

Phoenominal song & video. Boruch Sholom Welcome to the music world. You have proven that you have an amazing voice. Go get em. May you have lots off success.

auto tune or no auto tune - great music
June 7, 2010 9:46 pm

i love and always listen to music
i strongly feel if playing in the studio helps the expression of the song – really who cars about auto tune….
that my opinion

i dont agree
June 7, 2010 9:44 pm

you have amazing talent, and a really beautiful voice, and youre right, the music style fits the song. but with so much talent, inspire people to be positive, write a new song, infuse us with hope, and perhaps the message, vafilu cherev chada munachas al tzavaroy shel adam, al yimna aztmo min harachim.

B'Tzelem Elokim

A Yid is M’ein Haborei , by thinking and talking positive you create positive , just like Hashem created ,you toocan create positive .
The Rebbe streses , “Always have a positive attitute” , you create a positive outcome by talking positive and thinking positive of all these negative happenings become positive ones , a refuah shleima to all those who need a refuah , now !
