Crown Heights’ Achdus Shabbos

‘A Shabbos to remember’ is what Crown Heights residents called this past Shabbos day that united a community in learning and Farbrengen.

Shabbos Achdus – Parshas Toldos 5770 drew some 1,100 men, women and children of all ages.

The massive Shabbos marked the first yahrtzeit of the Shluchim to Mumbai, Rabbi Gabi and Rivky Holtzberg.

This is the second year this was organized, under the leadership of Congregation Bais Shmuel – Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Jacobson, Shul president Moshe Pinson and Shul gabbai Dudi Farkash.

The day began with an in-depth Chassidus class delivered by 770 Mashpia Rabbi Yekusiel Feldman (in Yiddish) and by Bais Shmuel Rabbi Jacobson (in English) and by Rabbi Ephraim Piekarski.

Following a lavish breakfast buffet, Shacharis davening was led by Mordy Werde and Rabbi Levke Kaplan.

A speech was given by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky before Mussaf, led by chazzan Eli Raskin.

A full three-course community Shabbos meal was then held in the Oholei Torah hall, as Chassidim sat together and heard words of inspiration.

A special moment was when the Chassidic niggun Padah B’Sholom Nafshi was sung in merit of R’ Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin.

The day continued with Mincha, seder niggunim and Maariv with a video presentation of the Rebbe.
