Participants of the upcoming International Kinus Hashluchim in New York will receive rare access to some closed-off rooms of 770 – Lubavitch World Headquarters.
Located on Eastern Parkway in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, the building served as residence and office of the Sixth Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn and of the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson.
During the five-day convention, Shluchim will be able to visit the balcony, the entrance to the library, and parts of the second floor of 770, all of which are usually closed to the public.
Librarian Rabbi Sholom Ber Levin is in charge of some of these rooms.
In addition, the central Lubavitch Library of Agudas Chassidei Chabad will be launching a new exhibit in honor of the Kinus titled “Treasures from the Chabad Library.”
“770” is the general theme of the Kinus taking place November 11 – 16, 2009.
