Glæðaleg Purim!
This year was Iceland’s first Purim with a Megilah! The community had a beautiful celebration in downtown Reykjavik where everyone got to do the mitzvos and enjoy the holiday.
The festive event for young and old was hosted by Chabad of Iceland, directed by Shluchim Rabbi Avi and Mushky Feldman.
For some participants, this was their first Purim ever, and for some it was a taste of their youth.
“It was such an outstanding celebration! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to experience it for the very first time in my life!” said Olga, a Jewish woman living in Iceland for seventeen years.
Shluchim Rabbi Avi and Mushky Feldman, together with their three daughters, settled on the volcanic island in May 2018. They serve the local Jewish community and make sure to always be there for the many tourists who come to explore Iceland’s beauty.
This is so beautiful and amazing!! I helped call during their charidy campaign and I’m so happy to see that their shlichus has kicked off so well!! Keep making the Rebbe proud!

Amazing! Yasher Koach Rabbi and Mrs. Feldman. Brocho vehatzlocho in your inspiring shlichus, and may you be mechoyil el choyil in warming up Iceland with the fire of Yiddishkeit!
Talk to Rabbi Clapman (sofer). I believe he was the first Lubavitcher that went to Iceland on behalf of the rebbe’s direction.
